"A superb experience, I highly recommend taking this course! George was great - friendly, informative, and patient with my many mistakes. It was a full day in his workshop with a wide range of tools and equipment to try. Very hands on, lots of practical work, and I was amazed at what I was able to make in just one day and take it home with me. A fascinating glimpse into the world of turning! Plus some lovely food as a bonus. Thanks again George :-)"

My partner was thrilled with the item he hand turned and came away with. George's wife was so hospitable too, she invited me to her beautiful garden while I waited and provided us all with tea and brownies half way through. Can't fault anything, would highly recommend! "I had a fantastic morning learning woodturning with George, who was an absolute joy to learn from. The session was hands-on right from the start, and George's patience, personable nature, and engaging teaching style made the experience truly enjoyable. I learned how to clean pieces of wood and then use various tools to cut, shape, and polish them to a shiny finish. Like others here, I crafted a Christmas tree model, a bowl, and a spinning top. George's passion for woodturning is evident througout. Even during our coffee break, it was fascinating to chat with him and see examples of his commissioned work, which were truly jaw-dropping. I highly recommend this course to anyone. I may even have some of my family looking to book soon!"

"This was a great half day - quite intense with lots to absorb. I wish I’d done a full day to give me more time to get to grips with the various techniques. George is a hugely enthusiastic tutor, clearly passionate about wood turning. He pulls out all the stops to pack as much into the session as possible. You really get your money’s worth. We were cutting wood on the lathe within minutes of our arrival and my friend and I both came home with a Christmas tree, a spinning top and a little bowl that we’d made. I was amazed by the quality of the pieces we were able to produce, even though we were absolute beginners. It’s a bit addictive and I suspect George will be seeing more of me. "

"What a fantastic day we had. George was a brilliant and very patient teacher. We felt very comfortable and found George to be very approachable and super knowledgeable about different types of wood and of course the art of wood turning. We were given the time to experiment and ask questions. And added bonus was that George and his lovely wife provided us with a wonderful lunch and cake ! We would definitely recommend this course to anyone remotely interested in wood turning. We were super chuffed with our creations. "

George is an incredible teacher, who had a gentle manner, is very personable, and generous with his time, his assistance (if needed) and encouragement. Wood turning is new for me and I thoroughly enjoyed the course. Can't wait to do some more!! Of all the craft courses I have done, this has been the best. "

"Me and my partner had such a wonderful experience with George, woodturning for his birthday. Incredibly patient, even when we kept forgetting the same thing over and over again! George had a cosy workshop where we all worked and we left with 2 proper pieces we made!(three including the practice piece). I genuinely would recommend the experience to anyone. A great Instructor and fun day out ☺️"
