"Amanda Jane’s Quilt in a Day course was everything I had hoped for and more. I am completely new to quilting, though I know my way round a sewing machine. Amanda Jane was patient and her step-by-step explanations were really clear - she made sure I learned by doing as well as by listening. Amanda had asked for my colour preferences before the course, and she got them spot-on correct, so the quilt I made was exactly to my taste. I have come out not just with a lovely lap quilt, but with the skills to continue quilting independently. Amanda also made sure I went away with a clear idea of what equipment is necessary for quilting (there are so many accessories out there, but I now have a clear idea of what I actually need), and also showed me all the different types of wadding available and the pros and cons of each. After the day, she sent me an email with all the information I needed and lots of good links and resources. I came away with confidence and enthusiasm to keep quilting! Thank you so much Amanda Jane! "

"My 11 year old daughter was gifted this for her birthday and it was an amazing day from start to finish. Amanda was super patient and had planned the day so well. She had carefully put together the fabrics my daughter had said she liked and went through each step at a great pace, ensuring that she provided help and guidance as and when needed. We both learnt so much and my daughter feels ready to get a hold of her nanny’s sewing machine and make another quilt! Thank you Amanda, your hospitality was wonderful too and we would both highly recommend the course to anyone looking to start out at quilt making. It was definitely a day to remember!"

"Amanda Jane is a real quilt guru! She was warm and welcoming and extremely accomodating in her approach, quickly assessing the level she needed to pitch the course at, giving me great value for the course with it being completely tailored to my level of skill. She even got goodies for the breaks accomodating my dietary restrictions. It was through and through a well thought out, awesome experience, which gave me the confidence to start on some bigger projects on my own. Well worth it!"

"From the moment we made the booking to the second we left Amanda's studio yesterday, we felt utterly looked after. The one-day workshop was perfect. We learned so many techniques in a day, we left buzzing and full of anticipation for this whole new world that had opened up to us. Amanda is a super kind and patient teacher and makes sure you understand every step of the way. I would highly recommend this course. We were absolute beginners and left feeling confident to embark on our own quilt-making journey."

"One of my long held dreams came true when I spent the day with Amanda doing the quilting course! The day was everything I had hoped for; hands-on, easy to follow, inspiring, motivational and totally relaxed. The hours whizzed by and before I knew it the day was ended and I had so many new skills to take home and practice. "What a great day! Very patient teacher with a novice and full of tips and tricks. Everything planned perfectly so I went home with a great mini quilt, having tried the techniques needed to make a full size one. One to one teaching means you have someone making suggestions and sharing expertise all day and so learn quickly. Aftercare great too- follow up email with more tips and a newsletter and advice re suppliers. Feel I’ve taken a leap forward and have the confidence to get started on my own!"

"I really enjoyed my day with Amanda, her studio is in the beautiful surroundings of Ushaw college. All COVID precautions had been taken and rules observed at all times. This was my first time quilting but after Amanda’s excellent tuition I am confident in giving it a go myself. I was given lots of advice and tips to help with my future projects. The course was delivered in a comfortable atmosphere and led by my pace, as the course is one to one it could have been intense but it was amazing how quickly the day passed. I left with a completed quilt. I would totally recommend this course to anyone looking to begin quilting."
