Bea Carter reviewed: 'Art of Stained Glass' - Oldbury, Birmingham

"I had a ball. I was an excellent well taught course. I had was given a good overview of stained glass, both modern and historical uses. I was able to create my own design. I was shown how to cut glass to a template then had the experience of cutting glass. This is not as easy as you might think. I was next taught how to block the design and cut the lead to frame the pieces. This course was very comprehensive in the six hours and I was able to finish and take home my creation. So happy. If you want to try a new skill for 2017, this course could be the one."

Tressa Gilmer reviewed: Traditional Saddle Stitching with Armitage Leather

"Nigel Armitage is a true master of leather craft. He has infinite knowledge to share on the subject, & his passion for teaching is apparent. It is one thing to know a subject, & a whole other thing to teach it to someone. He is hands down the best, most intuitive instructor I have ever met. Learning to saddle stitch and make it applicable to several projects, has changed my life! Super grateful to have learned from him."

Callum Shand reviewed: The Art of Marbling One-to-One Workshop

"A fantastic course run excellently by Simon! The course was great fun and was set in a very calm quiet studio. The studio is a short walk away from the sea front, which provided a nice break while waiting for my paint to dry! Simon was a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic tutor, who patiently guided me through the wood graining taster course. I was very happy with the paint effect I was able to produce with Simon's guidance and would be confident in performing the technique again. I will definitely be returning to the South Coast Studio to learn more decorative paint techniques!"

Laura Green reviewed: Glass fusing class - powders and enamels

"I had such an amazing day when I attended Sarah's class. She made it both interesting and fun by teaching us some techniques. I even managed to cut a piece of glass straight without breaking it! I was really proud of my end result and although I love art I am not very creative. I will attend again,."

ali bradshaw reviewed: Furniture painting workshop with Annie Sloan chalk paint

"What a lovely, social, tasty, educational and interesting course ! I think I had an outdated view on painted furniture, and thought I knew how to do it, but after this course I felt so inspired that I made a pinterest board on it, and had dreams of setting up a painted furniture business. Didn't realise Annie Sloan paint was so applicable to so many different surfaces, that got the creative juices flowing - a sofa maybe ! The group was a perfect size and feel, small enough to feel you can ask questions and go over something again. And Lucy was mega friendly, helpful and insightful. So lovely. Would recommend the course for sure. x"

Helen Mitchell reviewed: Glass fusing class - powders and enamels

"Bought vouchers for me and my friend for her 50th birthday. We had such a fantastic day. We both love crafts and it was great to do something new together, and Jo had something to keep for her birthday. As you get to keep all your practice pieces, I made a picture out of the Christmas tree piece that was on the wall over Christmas, bringing back great memories. Will definitely go to another class when I can as Sarah is a great teacher. Thank you"

Owen Williams reviewed: One day stained glass classes by Le Breton Traditional

"The ancient art of stained glass is something I've wanted to learn about for a long time. I've bought a book or two and watched the odd You tube video but when Matt asked if I wanted to attend one of his workshops I jumped at the chance. I've now completed 2 workshops with Matt and thanks to his help, expertise and patience I've actually managed to complete 2 pieces of stained glass and I'm really pleased with them. The techniques and tricks I learned from Matt would have taken me a frustratingly long time to learn from books and the internet. There is nothing like one-to-one tuition with constant guidance and advice throughout the whole process from an experienced craftsman. Thank you so much Matt, I can't wait till the next workshop. Mary Byrne reviewed: Introduction to leatherwork with Armitage Leather

"I recently spent a day with Nigel in his studio. I went there specifically to learn more about edge finishing. We covered this in great depth and covered loads more stuff as well. As I said to him at the time, it was easily the best money I had spent in a very long time! I was struck by how readily Nigel shared his knowledge and contacts. By the end of the day he had compiled an email for me with his recommended suppliers for all kinds of tools and leather and I've gone on to buy from them. I've learned loads, in a nice environment and from a master. I'm planning to return again (from Ireland) in 2017."

June Pickard reviewed: Art classes - sculpture

"I have attended Ivan Daggett's sculpture classes for many years and find Ivan an excellent tutor. He has the ability to draw ideas from you without forcing you to his copy his own way of working. He is a very talented sculptor and can give guidance on the great variety of materials that can be used for sculpture. During my time attending his classes I have carved stone, wood and plaster, modelled with clay and worked with wire, both in abstract and human form.5"
