Shirley watson reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"This is a wonderful workshop to attend. Had a truly lovely time. Kerry is a lovely host and teacher. Made our own candle which we got to take home and all the information needed to make our own candles at home, either for a hobby or a new business adventure. I would highly recommend this workshop. Also the homemade scones with jam and cream are to die for."

Zhiru reviewed: Bookbinding using leather and marbled paper, Frome - Somerset. Private Tuition

"I bought a journal for my cousin's 30th birthday, hopping that this could come in handy for her to use daily even at work. So I decided to give the journal more sophisticated and antique look by bookbinding it for she was quite an artistic person. For choosing the cover of the journal, from his numerous collection, Stephen helped me to select an very old property document, which was handwritten in artistic legible script and with a lovely stamp on it. He also provided his aesthetic advice when I couldn't decide which part of the document I would like to use because it was so beautiful. Later on in each step, Stephen was like this: listened carefully to my needs and ideas and was very patient to guide me until I complete the whole process. The atmosphere in his studio was very relaxing and it was very pleasant to have his company for he is the man with lots of great stories. I enjoyed the bookbinding work a lot and was very satisfied with the work I'd done. Thank you Stephen!"

"I thoroughly enjoyed Alice's workshop yesterday. The studio was inspiring with her work on display and her approach is calm, friendly and supportive. The hours flew by and we all said how relaxing and therapeutic it was to do. I bought a loom at the end of the day and set it up as soon as I got home, keen to get started-I think weaving is going to be addictive!"

helen Duckworth reviewed: One day bangle/ring workshop

"Jolene was really wonderful. Just four total beginner students in the treasure trove of her studio workshop, she made us feel like we could accomplish anything. We learnt the essential techniques to make some gorgeous silver jewellery and came away thrilled with the things we made. Jolene will step in if you need help, and really encourage your creative ideas. We did the earrings and pendant day, though thanks to Jolene's total flexibilty and encouragement i made a ring and 2 pairs of earrings. I was very happy with my first tries at jewellery making. A really enjoyable day and thoroughly recommended."

"I would definitely recommend this course. Sophie is a great teacher, who quickly puts you at ease, and with her kind gentle approach, she leads you through the whole process. None of us in the group had tried needle felting before, but we all made something to be pleased with. The setting is charming, and Sophies mums cooking is delicious. A thoroughly enjoyable day. Thank you Sophie."

Madelaine reviewed: Spinning Lesson

"This is a great course for a complete beginner. Mia gives background information and history of spinning and slowly introduces different basic techniques. Plenty of opportunity to ask questions and to try out key methods. Mia supports the learning and goes at your own pace, hands-on learning allows you to practice each step . At the end I went away with my mind buzzing and itching to get practising. I look forward to practising at home and developing a new skill !"

Karl Watkins reviewed: Spoon carving course (1 day)

"Sorry for the late review, the spoon carving seed sown on your course has now become an addiction. What a wonderful day it was (Feb this year). I joked with my wife that I may never return - it was a close run thing. I learnt so much, I relaxed, I unwound and I created something unique, a cherry 'spoontula' now finished and given as a new home present. I'm now experimenting with different woods, tools and designs-my mind is certainly working faster than my hands although I'm doing my best to keep up! Many thanks, I shall return...."

Liz Couzens reviewed: Freehand Machine Embroidery with Annie Morris

"I have wanted to try freehand machine embroidery for some time, and was thrilled to be booked onto Annie's course as a birthday present. She was so welcoming friendly and clearly very talented, very happy to share her skills from absolute beginners to those who have been before and working on more complex work. I came away with some great sample pieces and the confidence and techniques to take me further on my own. I would highly recommend Annie's course, she's amazing!"

John Bacon. reviewed: Introduction to leatherwork with Armitage Leather

"Fantastic course. Learned so much on the day, all pitched at the right level. There's one thing being knowledgeable about a given subject, but the skill comes putting that knowledge across. Nigel knows his stuff, there's no arguing that, but the information and techniques are put across at a level which makes them understandable, but more importantly, memorable. We focused primerrily on pattern making from concept design to product. Then cutting and assembly. If you enjoy leather craft, be it professionally, or as I do, purely as a hobby, you will take and remember lots from this course. Friendly, professional and informative. Highly recommended."

Lyn reviewed: Basket making in Norfolk

"I loved this course! Julie demonstrates her fabulous skills in manageable chunks, offering extra help where needed. Throughout the day we each turned a bunch of short twigs and some very long ones into an amazingly strong and (almost) perfectly formed basket, complete with handle. A really fulfilling day with a very useful end result. Thank you, Julie Lyn P.S. Julie's a great baker too, her cakes were delicious!!"

Lynda Adami reviewed: A 2 day throwing and handbuilding weekend at an established pottery in the New Forest.

"What a lovely time we had - we stayed in Jo's beautiful cottage as B & B guests and were waited on by her lovely family. We relaxed and enjoyed her garden and the Yurt, but best of all we spent the whole day in the Potting Shed (hardly a shed - a perfectly proportioned classroom!). Jo is a very quiet tutor but with wonderful experience, she answered any questions we threw at her and encouraged us with our throwing, helping us hands on if our pots didn't quite go the way we'd planned! Jo demonstrated different techniques and let us 'go our own way' if we wanted to. It was a perfect way to 'wind down' and relax (oh and get very very messy - well that was me anyway) . Booking the course was easy and paying simple too. I'm hoping to return in the not too distant future. If it was closer I'd be there every week."

Laura White reviewed: Creative Vibe - Glassblowing Sessions

"This is the most amazing course I have ever been on. Ricky is an excellent teacher who enables you to feel confident with the material and realise its potential. You achieve so much in one day, producing 4 glass works. The course went well beyond my expectations and I will defiantly be going back to do more. Also, great value for money - I can't recommend it enough to anyone who wants to have a go at glassblowing...."
