Mike W reviewed: Pottery Throwing Workshop with Jim Malone - Winchester

"The 5-day workshop was just what I needed to get to the next stage in my potting. John’s daily demonstrations of throwing techniques (from basics to advanced) followed-up by his focused and endlessly patient one-to-one coaching of everyone on the course was a recipe for progress. As a relative newcomer to throwing on the wheel I had plenty to learn. I noticed that the more seasoned attendees also benefitted from John’s insightful comments and constructive feedback. It was a pleasure to find someone not only very talented in what he did but equally able to communicate his approach to others with a lightness of touch and a sense of humour. The facilities at the pottery were excellent and Nadia’s enthusiasm and attention to detail made the whole five days a smooth and enjoyable experience. Very highly recommended."

Robert Mensinga reviewed: Pottery Throwing Workshop with Jim Malone - Winchester

"Spent a brilliant week with John not only to further improve my throwing skills but equally important to go back to basics to unlearn some of the bad habits that had crept in. It was really helpful to have a course of mixed abilities and John was always readily available to teach individual potters and it was a joy to watch him demonstrating the finer art of throwing. The spacious facilities were excellent with good wheels and tools and plenty of good clay to work with. Last but not least Nadia was an excellent and charming hostess who made it all happen and she provided light and healthy lunches."

Frances Manz reviewed: Mosaic Summer/Autumn School (5 days) in the Peak District

"Having never done any mosaics before I visited ZANTIUM about nine years ago and I was delighted with the experience then and all my visits since. The tutorials by Peter, a very patient, kind and helpful man, are full of enthusiasm and encouragement to create an object that you will be very proud of, plus great enjoyment whilst carrying out your 'creation'. With such a wide array of colourful tiles, etc, you will be spoilt for choice. Lunch time is a must, provided by Ali, freshly prepared, never a disappointment, plus tea, coffee, biscuits and home made cakes, very welcoming breaks during your day to keep your energies up!"

Lucie reviewed: Fused Glass Workshops for beginners & experienced

"The glass fusion workshops are simply fantastic! Ali is extremely helpful as she guides you through the process of creating your very own and unique piece of glass art! The workshop takes place in Ali's treasure trove of glass wonders, all of which help to inspire. You can simply arrive and there are many ideas already at your fingertips. I know people worry about not being 'creative', well with Ali's superb guidance (and patience!) it really is something that anyone can have a go at, and be pleased with the outcome. My two children have experienced this too and have been so proud of what they have created. We have given some of our pieces as gifts and had the recipients ask "Where did you buy that from, it's brilliant!" What a great feeling to know it was made by our own fair hands! Go on... have a go, you won't regret it!"

Nicky Walters reviewed: Advanced Guided Wire Pendant Design Workshop with Lonely Soldier Designs

"I have been making jewellery for several years and have taught wirework and beginner silver jewellery courses myself, but I learnt many new things on this workshop. New skills, shortcuts, equipment tips and weaving techniques. Jim (Lonely Soldier Designs) is a patient, and inspiring tutor. Clear written worksheets also support you on the course but leave room for you to develop your own style within the tutorial."
