Emma Scott reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning! Kerry runs this course from her stunning home in the picturesque village of Temple. You learn so much in a short space of time, get to meet like-minded crafters and even get your own candle and scent mix to take away. Can't recommend highly enough!"

Peter Bain reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"I thoroughly enjoyed Sebastians stone carving course. It was a full two day adventure of creating a sculpture from a block of stone. Sebastian is a warm, thoughtful and easy going chap who made everyone feel very welcome and I would have no hesitation in recommending friends or family to give the course a go."

Charlotte reviewed: Upholster a chair seat or drop in top for a stool

"What a lovely way to spend a Saturday! As a complete novice, I was worried about what kind of result I would have upholstering my first chair but Anne put me completely at my ease. She is extremely knowledgable and patient and took me through each phase at my own pace. I left with a chair that I am very proud of and the confidence to tackle upholstery again - thank you Anne! The afternoon tea at Mrs Lyons tea room is also lovely!"

The Little Vintage House responded:

"Thank you for a lovely review. It was great to meet you yesterday and I loved your transformation from a seagrass seat to a fully upholstered one, in your beautiful vintage Laura Ashley fabric. Good luck with all your future projects. Best wishes Anne"

Nick Mansfield reviewed: A Dry Stone Walling Workshop Bedfordshire

"I found the Dry Stone Walling course to be very educational, and set at the right level for those attending. John was very knowledgable and helped the course along with his encouragement and anecdotes. It gave me the confidence to try a a few small home projects, and an interest to learn more about this countryside craft."

London School of Dry Stone Walling responded:

"Hello Nick - thank you for your time to review. Good to have two 'brothers' ! working along side each other 'juggling' the stone. You did appreciate getting your 'eye' in and time required to find the appropriate piece with suitable 'face'. I am sure your garden features will appear in due course and you spend happy times building a DSW. Best Wishes to both, kind regards, John"

Nicola Wicks reviewed: Introduction to English Willow Basket Making- Weekend Course

"Brilliant course on basket making, i bought this as a Christmas present for my husband. Jonathan is an excellent tutor, demonstrates each step of the process with simple clear instructions and gives lots of 1 to 1 help during the day. He is so friendly and generous sharing his knowledge. We had a fabulous day and will definitely consider doing another course to make a different basket. Thanks Jonathan (and Willow the dog)"

Nikki Laidlaw reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"Very well organised with great communication before course. There was an ease to the booking and then finding the venue. Kerrys base is her gorgeous kitchen with was beautifully set up for us arriving. Refreshments were on offer throughout the workshop and a bonus was the homemade fruit crumble halfway through. Very informative and we all made a lovely candle to take away and a fragrance blend. Discussions about types of wax, containers, why candles burn wrong and how to use - this really did answer a lot of questions I had. This was a great workshop and I would thoroughly recommend.."

malcolm white reviewed: Bladesmithing experience day

"From start to finish, two whole days producing my own bespoke chefs knife, the experience was awe inspiring. Very modern spacious workshop, contrasting old with new machinery, Steve is an artisan of blacksmithing, very knowledgeable who sets very high standards. I wholly recommend any course of his. Exceptional!"

White Tiger Knives responded:

"Malcolm It was a pleasure, you worked hard and they turned out to be long days in the end, but judging by what you made it was well worth the effort. Kind regards Steve"

Philip Weston reviewed: A Dry Stone Walling Workshop Bedfordshire

"The day with John was a great experience! There were 7 'students' (all excellent company by the way) having a go at what, on the face of it, seems a straightforward process. I soon learnt how straightforward John made it seem!! John spent time patiently explaining the process, showing details of the wall already built and pointing out the features of a dry stone wall. He dealt with the wall from foundation up and we soon learnt some of the terminology (2 on 1, 1 on 2, jumpers, cheek ends, batter etc.) and were able to (try and) apply the principles taught. I don't consider myself a good DIYer although I give things a go and this is the attitude that John wants. For me, it was not easy, and you should see it as a hands-on taster/introduction to the subject. In that regard, it was very good."

London School of Dry Stone Walling responded:

"Thank you for your comments Philip, your time to consider the workshop content is much appreciated. It is a practical subject and i am particularly pleased you remarked on some of the terms used. It does take time and some 'juggling' to consider what stone goes where ! Best Wishes, John"

Katie Fairbairn reviewed: Gelli Printmaking with No5workshops Group Booking

"I don’t do creativity. I always say I don’t have a creative bone in my body but this was for a much loved friend’s birthday so I went along as I’d agreed and I loved it. For the first time ever I understood the fun of creating something you had designed and enjoyed the whole experience. The studio is light and airy in the most amazing setting and Armi is a wonderful teacher, relaxed, happy to repeat if you don’t completely understand and supportive in whatever you are doing or would like to do. I can’t recommend it enough and this was from the most reluctant pupil ever. I will definitely be looking to do more."

"I attended Jo’s workshop in February and was very impressed. Jo is very knowledgable and patient and taught us lots of amazing techniques. An old childhood bookcase became a very modern and refreshed piece of furniture thanks to Jo’s advice and guidance. The cakes were yummy too. Highly recommended the Boho Shes and Jo. Can’t wait for level 2."

The Boho Shed responded:

"Thank you so much for your lovely words Jane. It's so great to receive such positive feedback. Your bookcase looked gorgeous and I'm delighted you enjoyed the day...and the cakes! :-)"

Alex Brand reviewed: Gelli Printmaking with No5workshops Group Booking

"We organised a 60th birthday treat of a foil printing workshop with a group of nurses. Despite most of our total lack of artistic skill Armi’s knowledge and fantastic teaching style meant we all produced work that we were really happy with. The surroundings are beautiful, a delicious cake, really organised work space with a little bag and book to print on and Armi is a delight to learn with. There really isn’t anything that could be improved!"
