Willow hurdle making at Greenwood Days
Description
Alistair Hayhurst an expert hurdle maker will show you how to weave a willow hurdle. Through the day you’ll learn basic weaving techniques and leave with your own hurdle and the skills to carry on weaving. Alistair has been working in the coppice industry both making and teaching for over 20 years. Greenwood Days have been running woodland craft courses since 1998. The course centre is set in a beautiful 90 acre wood in the National Forest on the Leicestershire/Derbyshire border. Our tutors are all highly skilled professional craft workers and teachers who share our passion for preserving, promoting and passing on these crafts and techniques. What's included in the price?
Copious amounts of tea, coffee and biscuits. A lovely lunch with fresh home-made bread, soup of the day followed by fresh fruit. All meals are vegetarian but do let us know if you have any other dietary requirements. The course fee includes all materials required to complete the projects and use of tools and specialist equipment associated with each course. Instruction will be given for the safe use of tools. The minimum age for standard courses is 18.
