Description

Enjoy a full day in our jewellery studio where you will have full tuition, expert guidance and exclusive use of our studio. With step by step guidance you will make your very own wedding rings for your special day. We know how precious an occasion it is to make your very own wedding bands, this is why we book you in for the entire day (approx 5-7 hrs including 1hr lunch) allowing you to work at your own pace to make your perfect wedding bands. The workshop will be private and for you only. You will be guided every step of the way by professional jewellers Vanessa and Tom. You will end your day with beautiful rings and a special congratulations gift from us to celebrate when you get home. The full day cost includes sterling silver, tools and tuition. If you wish to make your rings in gold this will be an additional cost. Once you have booked your day you will be billed separately for the gold which must be paid for in full ahead of your workshop. We advise booking your workshop at least two months in advance of your wedding date, this allows time to discuss metal thickness and styles ahead of your session and for us to source the materials as required. As a very rough guide we have provided a price for the gold. The prices provided below are for plain bands and range from the smallest in size to the largest in size rings and are a rough guide as the price will depend on the metal you choose, the metal thickness and your ring size as well as the daily metal price fluctuation. A more accurate price will be provided once we have all the details we need for the rings you would like to make. Prices are estimates for yellow and white gold, bands: >LADIES: 9ct £200- £400 18ct £500- £700 >MEN: 9ct £400- £600 18ct £800- £1500 The finish of your rings is up to you, polished, matt finish or hammer textured. Hallmarking is charged at £30 each for different metals or £40 for two if the same metal carat. Engraving will depend on what you would like engraved. Stones vary depending on what you would like and stone setting will be done after your class by a local professional stone setter in the Jewellery Quarter Birmingham. If you would like stones set or engraving please let us know what you would like at booking and we can give you a quote. Finishing: You will finish your rings on the day either polished, matt finish or hammer textured its entirely up to you. Collection: Your rings will be ready for collection after your rings have been hallmarked at Birmingham Assay Office and any additional services requested. Please allow up to three weeks after your class for your rings to be ready for collection or they can be posted to you via DHL from £40. No sorry we do not have lift access. The workshop is located on the first floor accessible via a spiral staircase.

A frequently asked question and I understand the lovely idea of this, however this isnt something we can offer our participants. There is a lot of work and risk involved in the process of melting down and forming your metal and in the removal of your stones therefore we do not offer this the participants.

No we supply the metal for you to use to make your jewellery.
We are frequently asked if participants can bring their own old or sentimental jewellery to melt down to use during the class. Unfortunately this isn't something we can offer during the time allocated and there is a lot more involved than simply melting down the metal.

The time allocated for each experience is usually enough time to complete the project, however sometimes it may go over by a few minutes. Whatever happens please rest assured that you will always leave with a beautiful, finished piece of jewellery you have made from scratch.

Yes! After an initial introduction to the studio (The Jewellers Peg) You will be guided throughout the entire process from start to finish and will hand make your own item of jewellery. The tutor(s) will demonstrate each step before you do each task and will be on hand at all times to assist you.
