Description
Make a ukulele! This course is aimed a people with no experience in woodwork but would love to make a musical instrument. We start the day with a part assembled kit that has all the materials for you to complete the ukulele in 4.5 hours, plus a 20 minute lunch. There is no dangerous machinery needed in this build. Just bring a bit of common sense and you will have a great time with plenty of tea and coffee to keep us going. If we get time I may even sing a song at the end!

My love of woodcraft was due to a meeting with a guitarist friend who had made an acoustic guitar. We talked about his guitar for many hours and I thought it would be a challenge for me to have a go! Well that was 6 years ago and now in 2023 I am in a small workshop in Stoke where I build various instruments. The Strumstick instrument build is a great way to get to grips with fine woodworking and is an ideal step towards acoustic guitar building. No experience in woodwork is needed.
