Woodwork (beginners) 4 day foundation course

Description

4 days rota is as follows with only 1-to-1 tuition or 2 students max. Day 1: Wood preparation with precise measurements and marking. Hand tools introduction including planes, chisels, marking gauges, steel rule, set squares etc. Also 240v machinery explained. Day 2: Jewellery box making including wood inlays and corner keys, wood sanding and finishing including hinges, etc. Day 3: Footstool making using beech or oak, templates and dowels explained, also 240v router used in this build. Day 4: Bandsaw box making including detailed maintenance of bandsaw and blade change tuition. Sand to 320 grit and finish box with Danish oil. Each day is 7.5 hrs long with breaks to suit including 30 min lunch. 👌Please check my other listings for example of my great reviews 👍

What's included in the price?

All wooden projects can be taken home after Day 4. Free parking.

My love of woodcraft was due to a meeting with a guitarist friend who had made an acoustic guitar. We talked about his guitar for many hours and I thought it would be a challenge for me to have a go! Well that was 6 years ago and now in 2023 I am in a small workshop in Stoke where I build various instruments. The Strumstick instrument build is a great way to get to grips with fine woodworking and is an ideal step towards acoustic guitar building. No experience in woodwork is needed.
