Description

Join Lindsay for wire and beaded jewellery making session(s) hosted at Regent Centre, Gosforth. You can find us in Room 2_36 (La Dolce Lingua) from 6-8pm on the last Wednesday of the month for an initial 3 months starting May 28th. You can attend as many or as little of these sessions as you like, all are suitable for beginners or those with some knowledge looking to develop their skills. Each is an introduction to a different jewellery making technique using wirework and beads. Here's what you can expect to make: May 28th: Introduction to basic plier techniques, making 'P' and 'eye' loops using pliers to create beaded drop charms that can be used for pendants, earrings and bracelets. You'll also learn how to make links to connect together to create sections that can be connected for chains and other attachments. June 24th: Introduction to basic stringing techniques using tigertail wire to create earrings, necklaces and bracelets. You'll learn how to attach jewellery findings to these and how to design using tigertail wire to create 'floating' bracelets/necklaces. July 29th: Introduction to making wire rings. You'll learn how to measure fingers, using ring sizing equipment to make a base ring. You'll then be taught a simple wire wrapping technique to add beads for a pop of colour, creating a few different designs.
