Silver Bangles workshop

Description

If you can never find a bangle to fit you then this is the workshop you need! I will take you through all the traditional silversmithing and forging techniques you need to create your own stunning and perfectly fitting sterling silver bangles. Choose to make either a traditional hammered bangle with a texure that catches the light beautifully, or a pair of lighter bangles with curves and waves created using metal dies - the choice is yours! 14 to 16 year olds are welcome but will need to be accompanied by a paying adult. Tea, coffee and biscuits are included in the workshop fee. Joanne Tinley is a jewellery designer and qualified teacher offering workshops in Hampshire. What's included in the price?

Materials (sterling silver wire) are available for purchase on the day. The exact cost of the materials will be determined by the size and therefore weight of the bangle you make and the price of silver on the day, however material costs for an average hammered bangle is approximately £22. A wavy bangle uses approximately half as much silver as that. Tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits are in plentiful supply. We are a peanut-free venue, thank you.
