Beginner’s workshop – No experience is necessary. Love silver jewellery? Want to try making your own? Then this workshop is ideal for you to experience the traditional jewellery making processes all in a day! And at the end of the workshop you will be able to take your shiny creations back home. In this full day jewellery making workshop you’ll get a complete hands-on experience and create your own set of earrings and a ring. This 1-day Silver Jewellery Workshop is a great taster to jewellery making and suits those who are not able to commit to the 4 week Create Jewellery -Studio Days workshop. With your workshop booking you will also get a 10% Discount Voucher for the Biscuit Factory Kitchen for your lunch break or coffee/tea needs during the day! With your booking you will also get a 15% discount voucher towards any jewellery purchase from my collection -either online or at the studio. Please note material fee for silver approximately £10 – £25 is payable on the day. This will depend on the current silver prices and amount of silver used.
What's included in the price?
During the this workshop you will be able to make a beautiful sterling silver rings and/or earrings or pendants by experiencing the traditional silversmithing techniques such as measuring, sawing, texturing, soldering, filing, sanding and polishing. You can make up to 2 narrow rings or one wider ring or a spinner ring and pair of sterling silver earrings or a pendant during this workshop. In the morning session we will make the ring by experiencing sawing, filing, sanding, polishing, texturing and soldering. In the afternoon, after the lunch break where you can taste many delights in many cafes in Ouseburn, we will move to making the earrings using all the techniques we have experienced in the morning to finalize our creations. Workshop time: 10.00am – 4.30pm (with 60 minute lunch break) What’s included: Use of tools and equipment, copper to practice and embellish your designs. What you need to bring: A notebook, an apron and a drink (water / coffee) Studio Rules Long hair needs to be tied back Do not wear open-toe shoes in the studio Do not wear clothing or jewellery that hangs-off the body that might be a danger while using tools and/or machinery Follow the Government’s current COVID-19 guidelines Do not come to your session if you have COVID-19 symptoms or have a positive COVID-19 test Please use the provided hand-sanitizer when you enter the studio All bookings are COVID SAFE- If the Covid Guidelines changes and won’t allow us to go ahead with the workshop, your booking will be safe until we can return back to workshops. There is no time limit attached to this. Attendee limits: Up to 4 attendees.

Maker
Emine is a designer-maker of contemporary jewellery. She lives in Whitley Bay and works from her studio at the Biscuit Box Studios in Newcastle upon Tyne. Her work often explores amalgamation of materials and techniques to achieve harmonious wearable objects. She combines traditional silversmithing techniques with metal clay techniques. She shares her love of creating jewellery with others in her silver clay workshops within her studio and at six other galleries across North East.
