Screen printing on glass - Woven Glass

Description

Explore the unique process of screen printing on glass and make your own woven effect fused glass bowl or wall hanging. This course focuses on glass cutting skills and colour application using enamels to create beautiful textured glass. The half-day course will take place in a dedicated workshop space in Studio 10 at Manchester Craft and Design Centre. Resident glass maker Helen Tiffany has over 15 years experience as a designer maker, creating her own collections of screen printed glassware and enamelled jewellery which she sells from her studio. Suited to both beginners and those with some experience of glass making or printing, you will be introduced to the principals of screen printing and fused glass. Helen will guide you through the cutting process before printing on to glass using coloured glass enamels and constructing your piece. Finished pieces will be fired in the kiln to be collected a few weeks after the workshop from Helen’s studio or postage can be arranged on the day. This course is suited for anyone aged 18+ from complete beginners or those with some screen printing or fused glass experience. Group bookings, and alternative dates available on request.

What's included in the price?

All materials and kiln firings are included in the ticket price and complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. You will have the opportunity to make either a hanging panel or a bowl.
