Description

Have you ever thought about joining a life class but not known where to start? .....Does the thought of going to an untutored life session leave you feeling daunted and unsure? ....Then this is the session for you! The Life Drawing Introductory session is a one off evening aimed at people 18+. The session will explain what to expect from a life drawing class and how to approach it.... Life drawing is an excellent way to progress your drawing through observation, even if the human form isn't your primary focus. A model will be sitting throughout the evening. During the first part of the session, your tutor Natalie (who currently leads the life drawing classes at The Art Yard) will explain how life sessions are typically conducted and what you can expect from attending a regular life session. She will go on to demonstrate ways of approaching your drawing, including an explanation of how to measure and proportion your subject whilst doing demo from the life model. After a break, where tea and coffee will be provided, you will set up your own station and will have a go at drawing some timed poses. Natalie will offer guidance and support throughout and you will leave with the confidence to book yourself onto an untutored session. Please bring your own drawing materials.... A sketchbook or drawing paper (at least 6 pages) and a dry medium to draw with such as pencils, graphite or charcoal depending upon your preference. We do have a limited number of easels and drawing boards, but if you have your own then please bring it with you. Booking is essential as spaces are limited. £10 per person which is payable in advance. Please message if you have any questions or would like to book your place.
