Description
Paint a head portrait over two days. Day 1 will be an introduction and general overview to portrait painting. We will start by creating a monochrome or grisaille under painting to explore form through shade and tonal values. DAY TWO In day two we will add colour. Exploring how colour theory can help you develop your painting by looking at primary and tertiary colours. We shall be working from photographs - a subject of your own choosing. It is imperative that you take the photo, preferably someone you know or someone you find interesting. No flash!

Karl is an artist who works and lives in Portsmouth, his work is focused on the people and community of the city through portraiture. His work has been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery, London, Southampton City Art Gallery and Dean Gallery of the National Galleries of Scotland, Edinburgh as part of the BP Awards, also the Royal Academy and Royal Society of Marine Artists. His work resides in public collections including the Royal Navy and Portsmouth City Museum.
