At Cowshed Creative in the Lake District, we run an extensive range of art and craft workshops in our beautifully converted art studio only 6 miles from Windermere and Kendal Drawing or painting horses is a challenge! This innovative workshop will show you ways of representing a horse or pony with exciting charcoal techniques. You will be taught in a carefully structured way and given time to work at your own pace, whilst being shown how to understand your subject and apply the techniques. We will study: • Basic equine anatomy • How light falls to create form • Lines of action and "spirit" • Expressive Charcoal method Alex Jakob-Whitworth has been drawing, painting all her life and has been teaching art for over 30 years. She studied Fine Art at Leeds University and followed this with a Distinction in an MA in Art and Psychotherapy from Sheffield University. She has been involved with horses since she was 7 years old, both through Art, through equine physical therapy, training and owning. She is known for her encouraging approach to sharing her skills. Alex has exhibited her paintings widely including with the Society of Equestrian Arts, The Pastel Society in London, and at the Venice biennale. What's included in the price?

Cost: £78 includes some great tuition, a stunning venue, tea and coffee throughout the day and home-made tray bake. You need to bring your own packed lunch. There is a fridge and microwave if required. There is a short list of materials to bring.
