Encaustic art beginners class - paint with molten wax
Description
This encaustic art course is suitable for beginners and improvers. It's a wonderful vivid artform and great to produce quick pictures as well as adding to your art palette. I also love using it for card making. I can often do weekdays, so if a Wednesday or Friday work for you, do get in touch and I can get you booked in. We will look at the wonder of painting with molten wax, using an iron and heated stylus. Students will be shown several techniques to get started, and then we will work on abstracts and landscapes as well as using the heated stylus to create more detail. Encaustic art is fabulous for beginners and for those who do not consider themselves 'artistic' because the results are instant and the pictures vibrant. COST My home workshop only fits up to 3 people, which means any course booked will not be cancelled due to low numbers. The course price shown is for ONE to ONE classes. (If another person wants to book the same date as you, I will get in touch to discuss this.) If you are booking for 2/3 people the course fee will be reduced per person (usually by around 30%) so please get in touch for me to organise this for you. Class runs from 10 – 3pm. Classes take place in Colchester, Essex. All materials included but please bring your lunch.

FAQs
Colchester is in North Essex and roughly an hour by train from London.
Sorry no. In order to keep costs down I ask that students bring their own lunch, it also helps to keep the stress levels down when working out what people are able to eat. I do supply tea, coffee and biscuits though.
Age need not be a barrier, however much of the equipment I use is not suitable for primary-aged children. I do ask you to vouch for any young person who comes in terms of how they will work with potentially dangerous tools. You can always book to come together.
I do have a garden workshop, which is on ground floor level but can be cold at times. If you have any accessibility needs, do get in touch and I will do my best to accommodate you - that might be running the workshop in my house instead of the garden workshop, running a class online, or even coming to you (in order, to make this viable it works best if you have a couple of friends who'd like to join in too.)
Yes, my road is not a busy one, so you can usually park on the road outside, or even on my drive, if we remember to move our car over.
Yes I do. Please get in touch and I will confirm the price per person for 2 or more people. Usually, the price goes from £145 for 1 to 1 to around £125 per person.
