2 Day Fused Glass crash course with Deborah Moses
Description
Two day fused glass crash course. A really immersive but fun course which will enable you to create several exciting projects whilst learning about the craft of fused glass, plus our fabulous Farmhouse lunches. Course breakdown: Day 1: Learn all the basics of fused glass including easy and safe glass cutting, working with coloured glass, frits, confetti, bubbles, and stringers or noodles! Create small layered colour pebble projects, a beautiful tactile free standing birch tree panel, then a bowl in a design of your choice. For those thinking of going into fused glass, we have a small section about set up, hints and tips, materials, suppliers, etc. Enough information to get you started, and interesting for those here just to enjoy the class. We work with bullseye glass, spectrum, and float glass. Day 2: Create a bubble effect tile or vessel, 20 x 20cm, then a 25 x 25cm embossed glass panel (kiln carving), you may split this into separate panels. Work with enamels, cut glass, stringers, confetti, and glitters, incorporating an embossed layered, sculpted design (kiln carving} leaving you with a professional result. We have lots of templates, or we will assist you with your own design. Your fused glass panel will incorporate everything you have learnt over the 2 day fused glass course at The Silver Zebra Studio. Time allowing, you are free to create other projects or samples here! Often an exciting time as you're free to just play! Handouts are available that cover slumping, sample kiln schedules, problem solving, hints and tips, and advice on materials. A perfect class for anyone starting out, or just interested in glass and looking to produce their own beautiful pieces to show off.
