"Booked in for a taster pottery wheel throwing session and had an excellent time. Had no experience with pottery and no idea what to expect. Lorraine was very friendly and a great teacher. Gave use a short but useful demonstration and then allowed us to get straight into it, giving us plenty of time to have a go ourselves. Have recommend to family and friends and look forward to returning to see how our pottery turns out after being professionally finished by Lorraine."

"It’s amazing what can be achieved in the day pottery course! As there are few participants Lorraine can follow the individual progress and give expert advice and guidance. At the same time she allows experimentation and helps to turn ideas into beautiful objects. I will definitely go back to do the glazing course. Lovely relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful setting."

"We loved every minute of our day at Woodsetton. Both my daughter and myself were complete novices but under Lorraine’s expert tutelage we produced pots, plenty of them! Her way of teaching is spot on - plenty of attention but without feeling that you are constantly being observed. Lorraine timed it so that she would come back at the vital moment and either talk us through what needed doing or praise our efforts. Added to that the location is lovely with a sunny garden to take a break and homemade scones with our cup of tea!! I thoroughly recommend Woodsetton for a pottery experience."

"I took part in the one-day wheel course. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day; Lorraine is an excellent teacher, and the social-distancing arrangements and care for our safety were very good. It was a well-paced day, with time to try throwing, turning and decorating, all under Lorraine's expert eye. A lovely, refreshing treat; I would highly recommend it."

She was very informative and once we was shown what to do was left to have a go ourselves with Lorraine offering help and support when needed. "I had a wonderful day getting to grips with the basics of pottery, having been booked a place on the workshop as a birthday present. Lorraine was a wonderful teacher, and took us through how to throw, turn and decorate our creations. The pots came out looking amazing! I would book another workshop with Lorraine without hesitation. Having tea, coffee, and cake available to us throughout the day was a really nice touch too. Lorraine also has some of her work for sale at the studio - I couldn't resist buying a cup or two for myself! Thank you so much!"

"My sister and I attended Lorraine’s workshop yesterday and had a wonderful day. Lorraine is an excellent teacher guiding us and supporting us each step of the way. Having not done this before I was amazed at what we achieved and we’re looking forward to seeing the finished glazed pots. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and Lorraine’s Mom’s Lemon Yoghurt cake was delicious. The day was so enjoyable and great value for money."

"I attended this Pottery Workshop recently, as an absolute beginner. I had a most enjoyable day. Lorraine was so thorough in her teaching and had so much patience. I found the course very enjoyable, I managed to make 6 pots.
