"After having two 'courses' local to me cancelled, I drove 2 hours each way to Ashdown Forest. Simon's intention of the 'course' was to demonstrate soap-making with lye but have participants only make soaps with melt and pour - which is easy to do at home. I wanted the lye experience which he did let me do - but without any safety equipment - no gloves or goggles. I seemed to know more about soap-making than he did. He said he would send me the soaps we made but that was nearly 5 weeks ago and there is no sign of them. He has stopped replying to my queries about where they are. He also used tap water to make the soap - which is probably why another reviewer found the soaps lathered poorly. At least she got her soaps! So I went a long way and paid £65 for nothing. Absolutely not worth the time or money."
"The soap course itself was run well - a good teacher (although we felt it was a long day for him as he had taught the earlier candle making course that day).
It was interesting learning about how soap is made.
However, on now having used the soaps - and distributed to friends and family the quality of the actual soap product is not at all good.
Its a very low grade 'wash foam' soap.
Very slippery in use !!!! but no foam to feel like you have actually washed !
I feel the cost does not justify the products made (:"

"This was a Birthday treat from my children and it was the best fun. With Simon's great sense of humour and 5 happy participants, we all had a fun filled morning combined with learning from a true craftsman. 5 gold starts from me."
"I would definitely recommend this course, Simon was very informative, and it was a great introduction to candle making.
Looking forward to attempting to make more at home!"
"My sister and I took Simon’s course last weekend. We had a fantastic time! Simon was great and such a good teacher. He clearly knows his stuff!
I would highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn a new craft or start a new vocation.
Thanks so much."
"Excellent course. We learnt so much. Simon was an excellent teacher. We were so lucky because there were only the two of us on the course, so it was really personal. We made loads of candles and were not rushed away when the time came to finish up.
I would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone thinking about making candles!"
"Had a fabulous day learning all things candles with Simon. He answered all my questions with knowledge and patience and I came away with some really great ideas and information. Definitely worth it!"

I learnt such a lot and would highly recommend this workshop for anyone interested in candle making and wanting to find out more about the industry. A very insightful and inspiring day with lovely people."
"Had the most enjoyable morning candle making yesterday, my mum in law and I were incredibly lucky as there were some cancellations so we actually ended up having a one to one workshop.
It was so informative but super fun too, loved learning about all the different techniques and ‘hand dipping’ was a highlight for sure.
Would recommend the class to anyone and everyone, great to learn a new skill!"
"Great course!
We got to learn so much about candle making and had lots of fun at the same time.
Reccomend to those who want to learn everything there’s to know about candles whether as a fun thing to do, or business ideas in mind.
Thank you very much to Simon and Robert."
"We had the most amazing time with Simon, who was so knowledgeable and a great tutor - we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend it - super excited that we came away with lots of lovely candles :)"
"Simon was super knowledgeable. He also adapted the course as we progressed to be in line with our interests.
Plenty of tea and biscuits, too!
When we realised we’d left without our scented jar candles, the team were happy to post them. Fabulous customer care.
Highlight of the day: hand dipping!"
"I had an amazing one to one master class with Simon Harman. The class content was informative and fun.
We used wax, wick, colour, scent and moulds in a variety of ways.
This course is for everyone you will definitely want to go straight home and start candle making.
Thank you Simon"
