"I have never worked with pastels before and haven’t done any art since leaving school 40 years ago. I loved the format of the day, learnt lots of techniques in a lovely environment with a group of wonderful like minded ladies. Cathy is a great teacher encouraging you and passing on her tricks of the trade. I loved this course and would recommend it. Great venue, parking catering staff and Nicky who organises it. This is my second course here and now love pastels ! Thank you "

"This is my fourth class with Cathy and once again it was most enjoyable. This was a 10.00a.m. - 4.00 p.m. in pastels with seven other like minded people. I can honestly say all of us really, really enjoyed our day. Our final pictures show this and some completing three and four pictures. Cathy is very approachable, professional and her knowledge immense. She gives you time and encouragement if you're feeling overwhelmed and you surprise yourself with your final picture. I’m looking forward to enjoying many more. Some weeks ago. Just retired I wanted to enjoy something new. I decided to go for the art classes and it’s just been brilliant. I can only say take that step."

"This is a great course. It's amazing what can be fitted into a morning. I was so chuffed with my wreath that instead of hiding it for a few weeks, Christmas has started early and I've put it straight on the door. Sophie was very clear with instructions and very encouraging. always ready with a quick tweak if necessary. She brought a vast amount of a huge variety of material, some of which I would never have thought of using. Stanwick Lakes is a great venue too. On a nice day you could bring family to go for a walk in the nature reserve and have lunch together in the café."

"Unfortunately I felt, along with others, that the group was too large to be able to achieve what was expected of us. The Tutor did not have the time to spend one to one time with us all. I came away quite disappointed. Brilliant venue and surroundings. Thank you."

"Lovely, knowledgeable lady but I’m afraid there were too many people there for her to get round and help. I came away with a chain and nothing else. Will have to go on YouTube to achieve what I wanted this course to do. Such a shame because she was very lovely."

"Tutor spent far too much time teaching one woman and left the rest of the group, pretty much, to their own devices. Some were really struggling and should have had more one-to-one time. Also, the 'easy methods' she was teaching really weren't the easy methods. I was lucky that I was only taking the course as a refresher, hoping I would learn some tips. I didn't! I spent most of my time trying to help those near me who were being ignored by the tutor. Overall, pretty poor. Won't be booking anything in the future."

"This is my second class with Cathy. It is a joy. Her knowledge, advice and encouragement has so helped me. A total beginner in with various levels of fellow students but encouragement all the way. Can’t wait for the next classes. I did feel I was out of my depth but I’ve decided I’m going to stick with it and see how it goes. "Tutor was very knowledgeable and friendly but I felt 9 beginners were too many. The instructor did not manage to support the real novices as it took a lot of time to get round. I only learnt to confidently make a chain which was very disappointing as I hoped to have been able to confidently learn some stitches. Left feeling frustrated and with a headache. Beautiful venue and relevant for this activity. "
