"We have just spent the weekend on the stone carving course with Sebastian and can highly recommend it! Sebastian is a very knowledgeable person and the course was set at a relaxing pace with several breaks to chat, which was made all the better with the lovely family that did the course with us. Like minded people that we hope to meet up with again! I bought the course as an anniversary present for my husband and I’m so glad I did. We were both really happy with our carvings! If you are in two minds about this course do it! You’ll love it!! "

"We booked this as a family experience to share with our teenage daughter and it did not disappoint. The sculpture garden and off grid workshop is an idyllic tucked away spot and the course itself a thoroughly engaging and yet relaxing activity. With Sebastian’s gentle encouragement and guidance we all exceeded our own expectations and by the end of the 2 days had each created a stone carving that we were proud to take home. We would definitely recommend this course - it’s impossible not to love it! "

"My partner John and I thoroughly enjoyed the sculpting course with Sebastian. Neither of us has ever carved before, and feel we learnt so much. We both have a real sense of achievement at creating our own sculptures from scratch. Sebastien is very creative, knowledgeable and encouraging. He has so much experience, but a relaxed way of letting you explore the process of creating, whilst providing guidance, hints and tips when you ask. You can choose the size, and shape you want from his stash of stone, and he provides all the hand tools you need. The weekend was relaxing, creative and fun, we enjoyed encouragement and banter with our fellow course member. Working outside in the beautiful and tranquil location, in the glorious sunshine, was wonderful.. I had been a little concerned whether I would have the strength in my cranky hands to do it, but was pleased to discover that it is about subtle technique, not strength, and you can work at your own pace. I feel refreshed and inspired, and also quite proud of what I was able to achieve. It is an experience I will cherish, and hope to repeat. We highly recommend this course. It is a rewarding but dusty process so remember to wear working clothes. 😊 "

"I absolutely loved the experience that Sebastian and this 2-day course gave me. An idyllic setting, the right level of instruction and support from Sebastian, a sense of being immersed in something creative and being able to leave the day to day stuff behind (at least for a while), fantastic weather, the companionship of other like-minded fellow-carvers all made for a highly memorable weekend. We all left with very presentable carvings having arrived as complete novices. I highly recommend this course. Would highly recommend Sebastian "

"I've just completed the weekend stone carving course with Sebastian. It was bought for me as a gift and has proved to be one of the best presents I have ever received! Although slightly apprehensive about my ability to be creative, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and found it absorbing and extremely satisfying. The setting is beautiful and peaceful and we were blessed with great weather all weekend. Sebastian's guidance on developing skills and techniques was excellent and his encouragement and suggestions for my project enabled me to produce a finished piece that I am delighted with. I hope to enrol for another course soon and would thoroughly recommend this course. "

"The two-day course was a Christmas present and it was great! We had a lovely weekend and took away our finished pieces, very pleased with what we had achieved. "I had a truly wonderful weekend (April) learning some stone carving techniques and creating an abstract sculpture in a lovely rural environment near Gloucester. With dry weather the four of us were able to work outside alongside Sebastian who was keeping a keen eye on us - sharpening tools, offering bits of advice and answering all sorts of questions. I'd certainly recommend a course with Sebastian and might even go again at some stage. "

"I bought this as a Christmas voucher for my husband and I to do together. Lovely setting, Sebastian is very welcoming and gently encourages you to be creative. Really enjoyed the wood burner to sit around at lunch and talk to other people on the course. By the end of the 2 days we were both very pleased with our efforts. It was a wonderful way to be 'in the moment' and spend time focused on the task in hand. "

"The lovely tranquil setting and delightfully relaxed atmosphere of Sebastian's workshop soon put me at ease, despite having absolutely no idea of how to begin creating my sculpture. "My partner bought me a stone carving experience for my birthday. I've done a few of these experience/craft days now and this is easily the best. Sebastian, the instructor, is jovial and full of interesting insights and stories, he had a host of tools that he has collected from around the world. And most importantly he is accommodating and expertly skilled at his craft. The space is tucked out of the way, down a narrow country lane and has a charming, almost magical feel to it. It's a very peaceful place to learn (even though you will be making a fair bit of noise). The views from the site are phenomenal. There is a good sized studio building and spaces outside, and when we arrived sebastian already had the log fire going and the kettle on. I could not recommend his stone carving course enough. I have found a new hobby."

"I attended the stone carving course in November, we were lucky with the weather, relatively mild so we were able to work outside. I appreciated Sebastian’s gentle approach, with just the right level of involvement and plenty of encouragement , the stone talked to me and a creation appeared! The studio is in a lovely rural setting , the two days whizzed by, I would thoroughly recommend the course to anyone. I am sure I will buy some tools and find a piece of stone to work on at home."

I arrived somewhat anxious as I have not done anything creative for years but Sebastian got us started on a practise stone very quickly. I discovered that I could use the tools and although the initial shaping of the stone was hard work, the changing of the block into an acorn (my choice) was fascinating to see and very enjoyable."
