"Really Enjoyed this Beginner’s Stone Carving Course today! John, himself a Master Stone Mason, was very knowledgeable and attentive. Neither my husband or I had any experience whatsoever in stone carving and were over the moon that our days achievements were very pleasing on the eye. Thank You John! We had a lovely day and will be purchasing some equipment of our own and having a go. Would defo recommend giving this course a go!!!"

You both did brilliantly and took on many of the skills for carving your stones. Lettering is really the hardest technique to learn and you both should really be chuffed to what you achieved in such a short time. Looking forward to seeing them painted and in place. "I bought the experience for my boyfriend as a Christmas gift and he had the best time. As a complete beginner, I was very impressed by what he managed to create in just a few hours. He said that John was an excellent teacher and he loved being able to pick his own design and get creative with it. The setting was absolutely beautiful overlooking the water and sailboats, and thankfully the weather did not disappoint. Thank you John for providing him with a highly enjoyable and memorable experience!"

"What a brilliant day! I had wanted to try stone carving for a long time and am so glad I chose John's course. He is an excellent instructor; very clear and helpful with lots of tips and encouragement plus some great stories. The class was small (6 of us), very relaxed and it was a lovely atmosphere. The time flew by as our attempts started to take shape and I was delighted with the end result. I can't recommend John highly enough. If you are thinking about giving it a go then this is the course to do. "

The course is run in beautiful surroundings, overlooking Weymouth bay. I would strongly recommend this course, even to people who don’t think they have any skills in this area - I didn’t and surprised myself at the quality of what I made in just one day."

"My son and I attended John’s beginners day course yesterday and loved every minute of our day. John was both helpful and supportive. Highly recommend . I carved a tortoise and my son carved a maple leaf. We were very pleased with what we produced and looking at everyone else’s carvings were very impressed with their achievements 🙂 "

"If hestitating please book onto this excellant class. I was a complete beginner to stone carving and without any real artistic experience but the host soon put me at ease with their calm manner. They were attentive when needed...which was quite a few times...with a great overall knowledge which they were happy to pass on. The setting was perfect which helped to inspire what creativity I had in me. Class size was ideal enabling everyone to engage with each other and who were all very supportive. I would have no hesitation in recommending this class and host."
