"A fairly heavy layer of overnight snow tried to dampen (and chill) our spirits, but we were greeted with a steaming hot cup of tea/coffee and a warm workshop, so we were not deterred.
Sarah was great at making us feel welcome and we were soon busy learning how to cut glass. Before we knew it we had made a simple pendant, and were even able to see it being fired in a mini-microwave kiln. It was good to be encouraged to take before and after photos (so do have your camera ready) as it is lovely to see the transformation from fairly rough cut glass to a smooth, finished piece.
We then set about making a sun-catcher. There were plenty of different resources to use, not just glass, so we had a good range of colours and items to be able to blend into our pieces. The atmosphere was relaxed and encouraging. Sarah was good at guiding whilst encouraging us to do what we wanted - not what she thought we should do. This must be a fine balance and I think she did this well. The two hours flew by.
Within a couple of days we were able to pick up our pieces at a time convenient to us.
I would thoroughly recommend this course to those who are novices to those who have dabbled a little too. Thank you Sarah"
