"Thank you to Melanie for making this new craft a little easier to learn. The Pewter embossing was taught calmly but with enthusiasm. Melanie shared her knowledge and offered support as needed my only quibble was feeling cold, ( a cold day and building) so my fingers had a mind of their own. However, I still managed to produce a reasonable box! "

"We did this course as part of our 10year (tin) wedding anniversary celebrations. We absolutely loved it and gained a real appreciation of the time and effort that goes into the hand crafted items you see at craft fairs and online business. Mel was very calm and patient and checked our progress regularly to make sure we were doing it right and going to get the right result. We love the baubles we produced and will treasure them forever. Thanks!"

"This was a really enjoyable workshop from a skilled, experienced teacher. Mel was full of enthusiasm and happy to share advice on how to develop and adapt the techniques she demonstrated. As a lifelong crafter, I am always looking for techniques that I can use elsewhere in my practice. Mel was generous in her guidance and answered my many, many questions with patience and some really insightful suggestions. "I did the online workshop and had a fabulous 3 1/2 hours creating my pewter embossed notebook. With no previous experience of this craft, I thoroughly enjoyed the process and having a completed notebook and pen at the end was brilliant. Having received a craft course voucher as a birthday present, I can recommend that; as a gift, or, just to try something different, this workshop is a great choice. Thank you to Melanie who is a patient and encouraging teacher!"

"Mel is very welcoming and personable. She is clearly very creative with a wide range of knowledge across many medias, and open to sharing her knowledge when asked. Made to feel at home (provided some nuts and hot drinks). We were given lots of guidance and step by step support alongside a wide range of examples/resources. A very simple method to pick up within minutes of Mel's explanation and trial/test piece; and then the rest of the session to be creative and make it your own. You take a wooden box, colour the clasp and hinges, and remove the corners in prep and paint it whatever colour you like. Then you draw out your design and begin embossing on the pewter sheet. You also use a pattern for the surround on a separate piece of pewter. Then we treated/coloured the pewter and then cleaned it to your required shine. Finally sticking the pewter bits to the box. We also got a tour of the building while we were waiting for the pewter to be treated, which was lovely to see all the creativity. A wonderful day. Would recommend."

"My friends and I had a brilliant time with Mel on her Embossed Letter course. We started quite nervous but Mel put us at our ease, explained everything repeatedly (!) and with great patience. Mel gave us a fantastic introduction to this craft both through her knowledge and teaching but also through the many and varied examples of her work to be seen in her studio. We all came away with a piece we could be proud of - what more could anyone want? A brilliant day!"
