You have a choice of leathers to choose from. I learnt so much and really didn’t think I would be walking out of there with a bag that I’d actually use and keep for life. "Richard was so knowledgable and gave a great introduction into the processes of vegetable tanning leather and different types of hides at the beginning of the course that was very interesting. The cross body bag workshop was a great way to learn many different techniques in one day and it was so satisfying to come away with a finish piece I could wear after just a few hours! The workshop was not restrictive and I was allowed to adapt the design of the bag along the way which made it feel very personal. I’m looking forward to practising my skills on my next project!"

"I actually did the Small Leather Item course where you make a card wallet (there isn't a place to review that one yet so I am reviewing it here). Richard was great, a really down to earth guy who starts the experience with a lesson on the variety of tanning methods and cuts of leather over a cup of tea. After that we moved onto making the item. Throughout he would explain how the tools work, what they are for and he gets you to be very hands on. It was excellent. I was able to select my prefered leather, thread, debosing stamps (initials & logo) and he then guided me through the processes of making the item. I made a card holder that is now my daily travel card wallet. I'm very pleased with the results. I did all the cutting, punchering, burnishing, stitching, debosing, etc myself under his experienced eye. He gets you to experience everything and is extremely patient. I would recommend this to anyone, specially those with an interest in working with leather or just learning about the craft."

"Arrived and was immediately offered a cup of tea with a selection of biscuits. Enjoyed the tea while having an in-depth discussion about the different types of leather and dyeing techniques. Then it was belt making time; learning how to cut and stitch leather, practising on small scraps before committing to the actual belt, all under the careful supervision of Richard. Every question was answered, every detail explained and at every step I was given the time to get it right and walk away with my own handcrafted belt. If you want to try leathercraft for the first time, I can highly recommend Richards' class. It's friendly, relaxed, informative and well structured."
