"Julie teaches you all the basics you wish you had been taught at school and through her encouragement and persistence, people with the least experience have made rapid progress during her inspirational courses. She will gently take you out of your comfort zone to realise new horizons and discover that with a few essential guidelines, art is truly achievable for everyone and we can each work towards our own individual styles. Since going to Julie’s classes, (a highlight of my week), I have not only developed my own skills but have a new found confidence in an area I had never believed was possible. Last, but not least, I have met some really lovely like-minded people who have become good friends. I strongly recommend giving Julie a try and with perseverance and an open mind, you never know what you might achieve!."

"I first met Julie almost a year ago at a one day sketch book workshop. I immediately felt that here was someone with a gift for bringing out the best in her students. I have always loved all forms of creativity, but never had the confidence to join “ an art class, because I can’t draw! “ But Julie’s sessions have been a revelation, each week we are challenged to try out different media and materials and extend our knowledge, learning what suits us and how to improve. Julie is an inspirational teacher with a kind and caring nature and a genuine desire to make us all feel good about our work. Thank you Julie."

"Julie is a great teacher. From beginners to the more accomplished, Julie structures her classes to suit. In depth drawing, pen and wash, acrylic layering, still life and longer individual projects are just some of the art classes offered. Added to this is a really good atmosphere to enable you to grow as an amateur. Highly recommend to anyone who is in two minds. Lots of lovely ladies too who enjoy a good chat at the same time. Try it."

"Julie is great at encouraging you whatever level you are. I regularly go to her classes to continue to develop and learn in a relaxed atmosphere. It is my 'me-time' and even though I have been painting for years, Julie always manages to get me to look and learn something new. Classes are small so everyone gets the chance to be helped individually. The tea and home-made muffins are just the icing on the cake!!!"

"Where did that year go!? They say time flies when you're enjoying yourself, but all the better whilst learning, experimenting, visualising and much, much more. Having tried other tutors I have settled nicely into Julie's classes/course and wish I'd found her a lot sooner! I am not an artist by a long chalk but Julie's teaching gives confidence and fortitude along with lots of encouragement. Each week has a topic that gives you insight into a style of sketching, painting, how to implement genres (both tools and style). Guided by Julie's professional, friendly manner I apply my unconversant abilities and am amazed with the resulting pieces of work. Julie is an inspiration!"

"I have been attending Julie's weekly art sessions for the last year and loved every minute. One full day of sketchbook techniques and I was hooked! "I have only attended a few classes with Julie. I have found her to be a very competent and attentive tutor. I studied art at degree level several years ago and although I am familiar with the materials and techniques etc. I wanted a good course to refresh my memory and get me back into art. The lessons are interesting, stimulating and thoroughly enjoyable and stretch you enough without feeling lost or inadequate. I can't wait to be able to return in the New Year. The homemade goodies are also very good!"
