Ali seldon reviewed: Charcoal making and Greenwood Crafts

"Fabulous two day charcoal and green woodworking course. Phil is an excellent teacher and explains everything really well. Chuffed to go home with my handmade items.. of a butter knife, a wooden spoon and a 3-legged stool. A real escape from the everyday."

Chester Woods reviewed: A Practical Introduction to Woodland Restoration and Management

"Had a brilliant day down at the Greenwood Music CIC site. Lovely bit of woodland with a mixed variety of species to learn about. Phil answered all of our questions with ease making the day roll seamlessly. We covered some coppice practical, learnt about various craft, had communal food round the fire which is always great. The set up they have meant the December weather wasn't an issue. Great experience and value for money."

Greenwood Music CIC responded:

"Thanks for a great review, would love to chat with you about biochar in the new year Have a good one cheers Phil"

Barbara Douglas reviewed: A Practical Introduction to Woodland Restoration and Management

"We spent a great day with Phil on Saturday 8th February. If you want to really get away from everything and think only about what is going on around you in the woods, then try this. We were lucky with the weather which meant we could cook our sausages and burgers on the open fire which could have been the highlight of the day, until we realised at the end that for the entire day we thought about nothing except the coppicing and getting it right for Phil. All other daily problems just faded away. Phil is so knowledgeable and his passion for woodland is very infectious. Try it, you won’t regret it."

Greenwood Music CIC responded:

"Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the nice review"

Sue Pell reviewed: Relax, stretch, and release tension with a small group, in the woods

"The day was much more relaxing and calming than I had expected. An experience for all the senses. Walking through the woods. Noticing the small things you never usually see...the raindrops sparkling on the leaves. The sounds and smells of the forest. The touch of soft moss on the trees. This was my first experience of outdoor yoga. Under the trees dappled in sunlight through the trees. By the river, and in an open field with only trees around you. A beautiful experience."

Kathy Hutchings reviewed: Relax, stretch, and release tension with a small group, in the woods

"A wonderful and deeply nourishing day away from the busy world, it was such a gift to experience the beauty of all that nature holds, to be guided in really seeing, smelling and feeling so much more than I ever have before and I spend a great deal of time in nature. I came away with an even greater appreciation of all that nature offers us and a deeply profound sense of stillness within. Thank you."

Lily Russell reviewed: Relax, stretch, and release tension with a small group, in the woods

"A unique and special day in the ancient woodland. Wonderfully energising, and refreshing. The experience is still with me, and has been transforming my 'regular' journeys- as I cycle to work, walk into the village, or wait for the train. My senses still feel awakened by my amazing day in the woodland with Kathy, Phil and the other forest bathers."

Tanya Venture reviewed: An Introduction to Green wood craft (spoons spatulas and other things!)

"It was a really excellent day in a lovely setting, with a lovely dog and endless cups of tea! Phil was a great teacher and very good at recommending tools if we wanted to carry on carving at home. I really enjoyed making all of the different items. It was great having the freedom towards the end of the day to keep working on one of our current pieces or trying to have another go at something we had already made. I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in woodcraft or just in a nice day outside in the woods."

Jen reviewed: An Introduction to Green wood craft (spoons spatulas and other things!)

"Phil is a patient and excellent teacher. Over the course of the day, he lead us through making a butter knife, spatula, spoon and 'gypsy flowers', focusing on both learning the key skills and producing something worthwhile to take home with us. I'd highly recommend the course if you have any interest in exploring greenwood crafts."

Sally Tovey reviewed: A night in the woods

"My son and I spent a night in the woods, we loved it, built our own dens to sleep in, had our own fire to boil our kettle on, we were right next the stream, it was lovely and relaxing, the only noise was the sound of wildlife. It was an amazing experience to sleep out in the woods, looking up through the trees at the stars. Phil made an amazing beef stew on the campfire, and cooked breakfast. We also did some knife craft. Perfect to get away from it all. Thanks Phil."

Jackie Woon reviewed: An Introduction to Green wood craft (spoons spatulas and other things!)

"May 2019 Did this course yesterday with my 87 year old dad, sister and niece. The setting was stunning-bluebell woods, river, open meadow and the sound of birds all day. Phil was an excellent teacher and very patient! We made ladles, spoons and flowers and learned how to use a variety of tools. We all really loved the day and would thoroughly recommend it. Thank you Phil!"

Dafydd Powell reviewed: A Practical Introduction to Woodland Restoration and Management

"I attended the course in February of 2018 and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Phil was very friendly and easy to get along with from the beginning. The course provided a great mix of practical and theory in an amazing setting. We walked through the woodland to begin with and had a great conversation about nearly everything the woodland had to offer. We then began coppicing near the river and had lunch by the fire. I certainly learnt a lot about coppicing and certified the knowledge I already had. I also had the opportunity to do some greenwood crafts with the wood we cut down earlier in the day and I made two attempts at making a spatula. I would recommend this course to anyone with an interest in coppicing with any level of prior knowledge. I hope to return to the wood in the future to see your progress!"

Richard HUBBARD reviewed: A Practical Introduction to Woodland Restoration and Management

"Excellent day spent with a guy who is obviously an expert in his field (or should that be wood!??) Phil is passionate about what he does and this came across in spades in his approach. Re-enforced the very small knowledge I had already but taught me a great deal more! Will definitely be seeking Phil's advice in the future!"

Greenwood Music CIC responded:

"Hi Richard Thanks for the kind words, let me know if you want to set anything else up thanks Phil"

Joe & Pat O'Driscoll reviewed: A Practical Introduction to Woodland Restoration and Management

"What a great day we had with Phil on this coppicing course. It was both informative and enjoyable. We were hoping to gain some knowledge on how to maintain our woodland and Phil certainly helped point us in the right direction. We would highly recommend this course for those with no experience or some, suitable for everyone! We will definitely be in touch with Phil for further advice on our woodland in the future."
