"My two day visit was spent producing a reticulated piece of silver with two disks to be attached onto a pendant. My design was very basic and my numerous attempts at soldering taught me a valuable lesson that the construction within the initial design is very important. The garden was in full bloom and Lucy is extremely knowledgeable as regards nature. A very inspiring and relaxing spot with the birds chirping. Not only have I gleaned more information as regards jewellery making but also various bird calls and plant names. Thank you so much. I look forward to my next visit."

"With still glorious weather and the roses just out in Lucy’s garden, we took full advantage with a lovely tea break. Lucy has taught me so much about design since I started visiting her with a small scruffy sheet of paper and very rough drawings. This was another brilliant and productive day and I will have just one more visit to finish my pendant specially intended for me to wear at a wedding."

"Brilliant one day course with Lucy yesterday recreating a 3D printed ring in silver. She demonstrated a number of techniques and theory in a simple to understand way and answered all my questions thoughtfully. Lucy gave me an insight into the jewellery making process and made it really accessible and approachable. The location is beautiful, the tuition is excellent. I’ll be returning for another session soon."

"My second visit in May was focused on making a fine silver mount for a peridot stone (for later fixing to my ongoing project). It was a fresh challenge and a very intricate task of shaping and soldering, requiring accurate measuring and repeated checking to get a good fit. Now I am ready for the next stage of my project. Lucy has kindly given me the names of some wonderful suppliers of cords and silk threads. She has acquired for me stones and fine-guage sanding paper. She even gave me salts for a soak for my bruised foot! Thank you Lucy for your kind support."

"I was so lucky with the weather for my first visit in May, enjoying lunch and tea breaks in Lucy’s picturescque garden. The irises were in bloom and I sat under the spectacular scented wisteria, looking out towards the Clwydian hills: very relaxing. Throughout the day, I absorbed numerous hints and tips (as usual); this time, about different ways of finishing metals; I also had a recap on riveting. The day ended so quickly, but I am returning soon - to continue my project with stone setting. Can’t wait!"

"I experienced a day with Lucy that delivered the skills and knowledge required to make items that are unique and of a good standard. Lucy as a tutor is so knowledgeable and demonstrates skills of excellent silver smith work and ensured as a learner that I understood all aspects of my project so I could carry out those skills safely. I went with a definite idea of what I wanted to make and Lucy took me through it all calmly and explained so much of the process. I would recommend her courses to anyone just wanting to have a go at jewellry making and to the more experienced who want to widen their repertoire. "I had a two day course on a one to one basis with Lucy. I cannot recommend this course highly enough. Lucy is really welcoming, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I was guided through the design process before we commenced work on a pendant. Then each process was explained fully and clearly so that at the end of the two days I was left with an item I was proud of, a piece of jewellery my wife adores and more importantly skills I will hopefully use over and over again."

"Joined Lucy for a one day course. Had lots of discussion and great advice before attending the course with regard to what we would work on and what I would need to buy and where from.
