"My Wife and I attended a one-day course to make our own wedding rings, it was one of the most interesting and enjoyable experiences we have had. Lucy is so knowledgeable, explains and demonstrates every step we needed to make our rings. Lucy is also very patient and allowed us time to go over certain processes. The workshop is exceptional well laid out and very well stocked with all the equipment you would need. The day is very well managed by Lucy although you are consistently learning but you are also allowed to progress in your own time and made to feel relaxed. The overall cost is again excellent value when you consider the course is all day and 1-1 teaching. We would 100% recommend to anyone and really hope to return one day in the future ourselves Not to mention Lucy's workshop is set in a beautiful part of the Welsh country side, which is just an added extra to a truly wonderful day. "After nearly 40 years away from a bench I went to Lucy Copleston to brush up on old skills and learn some new ones. Firstly it must be said her beautiful workshop is inspirational in itself and incredibly well equipped. Lucy is an excellent teacher, very intuitive and seems to know exactly the pace required for each task to ensure the learning process is complete. She is very patient and we had a lot of fun exploring solutions in the construction of my rather ambitious design. Over 4 days of 1-to-1 tuition I felt I learned a huge amount and achieved my objectives. I'm already looking forward to returning. I would like to add that I can tell a complete novice would be totally at easy with Lucy's gentle teaching style whilst someone with more experience can feast on Lucy's wealth of knowledge and be challenged."

"I got a voucher for a jewellery making day with Lucy at Christmas in 2017, I eventually got round to arranging my course in December 2018. I thoroughly enjoyed it and Lucy is a patient and excellent teacher. I have done silver smithing jewellery making before and the encouragement she gave renewed my interest in taking it up as a hobby. I am extremely proud of what I created with Lucy's guidance, a beautiful robin inspired pendant in silver and copper."

"I'm reflecting on the tortoise and the hare. I have had two sessions recently where we have mulled over the design details of my work with some practice put in for good measure. Whilst the number of completed items may be small the devil has certainly been in the detail. If I had run ahead to complete pieces they would certainly not have turned out to be so magnificent as they have with Lucy's steady and collaborative approach with gentle questioning of my reasoning has made the difference between an average and a master class. With Lucy you have a grand master. I have already booked my next class."

"This was my second time with Lucy. We spent 2 days crafting a gem set ring that started out as a very simple two dimensional idea that turned into a complex three dimensional object. Lucy was incredibly knowledgable and encouraging throughout the whole process, letting me know of different techniques and their application. She was happy to answer any questions I had about construction, gems, or jewellery in general and I have come away with a wealth of knowledge and the confidence to design more pieces. I can’t recommend this class enough if you have an interest in silver craft."

"Hooked on jewellery making and back for another totally inspiring day. Lucy gives the opportunity to try so many techniques; I was happy to be doing etching again: one of my favourites. "With time off work I visited Lucy in October in fabulous weather for the start of a new project: a silver bangle inspired by the irises in Lucy's garden. I took a wire and paper model and developed a more solid prototype in copper. This was a very useful process in deciding various factors such as the width of wire and the shape and size of a stone. Lucy provided lots of interesting ideas and techniques I might use and I came away with a shopping list of materials for the next stage (can't wait!). All in all another wonderful and inspiring day."

"My expectations of this private tuition, and for what I might achieve in a day were high - I was absolutely delighted. From my initial email enquiry, through contact leading up to, and throughout the day there was excellent organisation and communication in all areas. Lucy offers really focused tuition and also documents the processes for you so that you have reference after you leave which really helps when you are learning a technique for the first time. "On the second day we explored the enamelling technique further. Lucy offers a wealth of knowledge, experience and artistic flair. One-to-one tuition that Lucy offers is invaluable and she ensures that you have grasped every aspect of the technique or skill. I work in London and Lucy's tranquil studio offers respite from the city buzz and you find yourself opening up to the inspiration from nature and the breath-taking environment. The day was very focused and exploratory, and Lucy always ensures that you are developing and that there is an end goal to the session."

"My mum desperately wanted to learn how to work with silver to go with her already stunning glass beadwork and I saw a great opportunity in a day's tuition for a birthday present for her and some creative time for me. We had a lovely day choosing leaves from Lucy's stunning garden and learning the basics of working with silver to create beautiful silver necklaces. She provided wonderful personal tuition and helped mum understand how this would fit in with the glass giving her extra time and attention to help her start off. A great birthday present and I had a lovely day and gained a pretty leaf pendant. Highly recommended."
