"Am proud and surprised at the quality of the lovely basket I managed to make as a total beginner which was totally due to the clear instruction and demonstration and patience of Julie. She shared lots of interesting info and her enthusiasm for willow weaving is infectious. A full day which was enjoyable and educational and oh yes good cake."

"Thank you Julie and Rob for your patience, expert knowledge and thorough teaching skills. The group were all guided through techniques at their own pace, enabling everyone to weave a beautiful fruit basket. The day does not require you to have any previous basketry skills, although I would say you need to be able to follow direction. All in all a great day, and don't hesitate to book, you'll have fun."

"Had an absolutely fabulous time attending the basket making course- Julie is very experienced and gave us the opportunity to practise lots of different techniques within our basket, always giving ideas for scaling them up or trying different ideas. She also very kindly sent us home with instructions to refresh our memory and an email after the course with loads of relevant information to help us get stared makingbaskets on our own. I would say you definitely need patience for the course and an ability to do fiddly tasks with your fingers to really get the most out of it, but with Julie’s help, you are guaranteed to go away with something you can be proud of!"

"What an amazing one day work shop. Worth every penny and more. Having no experience whatsoever with weaving and to be able to produce a lovely little fruit basket. Should be testament to the expert teaching and guidance from Julie. The day is totally at your pace and even with asking as many questions as I did, Julie was a patient ,knowledgeable and explained what I needed to know exactly as I needed to hear it. Would go back and do it again in a heartbeat...I fact .... I will."

"I enjoyed a previous course with Julie so much that I wanted to do it all again!! It’s hard work, but so satisfying to take home a basket made (almost) entirely by your own hand!! Julie is patient and expert at showing all stages of English basket weaving, you will not be disappointed with a day spent in her excellent company! And she makes lovely tea-break cakes too!!! A great day!!"

"Thank you Julie and Rob for a wonderful day, Sunday 28th October. The course was well structured with Julie firstly demonstrating the techniques for each part of the basket; we then went on to work the component part with lots of hands-on help and encouragement. Amazed that at the end of the day we all took home a very handsome small willow basket. If you are thinking of signing up for the course, don’t hesitate! It’s a great introduction to willow basket making. Small group of six means that everyone gets just the right amount of help and support. Julie and Rob are lovely people and will make you feel very welcome. Must also mention the selection of homemade cakes - delicious and kept us refreshed throughout the day along with the teas and coffees."

"A massive thank you to Julie and Rob for helping me create the best basket ever! They were both patient, kind and attentive to the whole group. Julie was very happy to answer plenty of questions, the knowledge and experience she had was extremely insightful and helped create our master pieces. I had no experience in willow or really any crafty bits and each different element of the basket making was broken up and explained beautifully. Please try basket making, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I couldn't of asked for two nicer people to teach me how."

"This is an excellent workshop. Julie is a clear, thorough and patient teacher, a good communicator and a really nice lady! We were six beginners with varying levels of dexterity and confidence, but by the end of the day we had all made really good baskets, and I think we all feel we have learned well enough to carry on the craft at home. There was practical demonstration; lots of hands-on-help;teaching about good,safe practice; discussion of varying styles of basket work and the different willows and how they should be worked. I learned so much, am thrilled with my basket and had a super -fun day. Thank you Julie."

"A thoroughly enjoyable full-on day with expert basket maker Julie King. Julie has a clear and relaxed teaching style that made each of the complex stages of the project come together in a way which was easy to follow. As well as an introduction to the skills Julie is able to pass on some of the history and background of the craft and it’s raw material. We all went away with a finished wicker basket which is credit to Julie. All-in-all a very rewarding day. Mark and Jackie."

"I attended this course with five other people and I think I can safely say we all really enjoyed it. Julie was an excellent teacher and by her careful demonstration of the technique's needed to make our basket we all succeeded. If anyone was having problems executing a technique Julie was there to gently advise and help. Although it was a full-on day from 9.00a.m. to 5.00 p.m. with a short break for lunch I do not think anyone minded. Julie had provided a variety of tea's, coffee and homemade cakes which were available throughout the day. All the tools and the materials needed to make our basket were provided. We all went home thrilled with the beautiful basket s we had made."

"This is a brilliant course. Julie was an amazing tutor, so patient and informative. The day is pretty full on but at the end of it you will have made a beautiful basket. The group was quite small which meant that Julie had time to come around to everyone to check that they were doing things properly. Everyone could work at their own pace. I can't praise Julie enough and the homemade cakes were a real bonus! I highly recommend this course."

"I loved this course! Julie demonstrates her fabulous skills in manageable chunks, offering extra help where needed. Throughout the day we each turned a bunch of short twigs and some very long ones into an amazingly strong and (almost) perfectly formed basket, complete with handle.
