I am a glass artist and educator with over 36 years experience running my own studio. I design and make glass artworks for public spaces, private homes and churches, I make traditional stained glass and enjoy working with new techniques to push the creative boundaries of the medium. "I thoroughly enjoyed the glass painting day, Derek took us through the process of making the paint and demonstrated a variety of painting techniques before we practiced for ourselves, culminating in producing our own glass picture. It was really informative and enjoyable, and Derek provided an information sheet to support everything we had learnt. Would highly recommend 😁"

"I recently spent a terrific day at Limelight studios being introduced to glass painting by Derek. The day was packed with useful information, tips and hands on experience. I learnt enough, and was given the confidence to venture off and explore the medium on my own - exactly what a taster day should do. It was great fun and very satisfying to come away with a completed piece, and I thoroughly recommend others try it! "

"The class was very well-paced and organised with the opportunity to practice using the materials. There was a sense of accomplishment in coming out with a finished product at the end. Knowledge was delivered in a practical way. This and the great studio surroundings and seeing Derek's achievements have inspired me to take the techniques away to experiment more for myself. I would encourage anyone interested in stained glass to take the chance to meet someone who has spent many years honing the craft and who is passionate about keeping the skills alive while being open to the evolution of new techniques and applications.
