"This is such a great course. The two days passed in a flash and I have learned so much. I haven't done any woodturning for over 30 years but am keen to get back into it and this course was just what I needed. The pace was great, with Mick explaining each part of the process and then giving us adequate time to complete that part before moving onto the next stage. He covered so much content but never overwhelmed us and we were able to go at our own pace. We made 4 great pieces and got to use high spec tools and equipment, including really good PPE so we felt safe at all times. The class numbers are small so there is the opportunity to ask lots of questions and have the support you need to get the most out of the day. Mick's workshop is well organised and spacious and he has lots of different equipment available. I've had a fabulous couple of days and would definitely recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn more about woodturning. Mick is great at tailoring his tuition to your needs so whether you are a beginner or someone who wants to further their woodturning skills, this is the course for you."

"Fantastic two day starter course. Mick’s purpose built workshop is excellent for teaching and turning. Mick is very good at explaining concepts and techniques. He provides attendees with latitude to express their design creativity whilst balancing that with help where needed. My fellow attendee and I had virtually personal tuition with top of the range equipment. We each created 4 artefacts that looked as though we were semi-pros. All of this down to Mick’s coaching and guidance. I would highly recommend this course to all newbies to woodturning. "

"I needed Mick to bring me back up to scratch after a 15 year break from woodturing. He was able to pitch the course taking into account what I could remember and what I had to re-learn. I had an enjoyable 2 days, managing a pen, nightlight candle holder, honey dipper and a bowl. I got to use one of his brand new lathes, unfortunately I don't think domestic control will let me buy one!! If you are wondering whether to do Mick's course - don't wonder. Do it!!"

"This was two days of blissful and purposeful activity. I was a complete novice at wood turning, but nevertheless came away with four pieces of work what I am really satisfied with, and which I thoroughly enjoyed making. The workshop is light and airy, and all the tools and materials are very good quality. In addition I felt safe at all times. "What an amazing course... I was initially apprehensive of what to expect and do, having no previous experience of wood turning. This concern, however, quickly diminished once the 'hands on' activities commenced. We initially went through the health and safety aspects of working with machinery and sharp tools, quickly progressing to the actual making of something! Mick had an identical set up to us and progressively first showed us what to do and then we did it. The end results included a candle stick made from pine, a bowl made from mahogany and a pen made from Bethlehem olive wood. The end results, albeit saying my self were spectacular."
