Julie reviewed: Ceramic moon gazing hares

"Well Done Linda!! Had a fabulous time and met some lovely friends too. Saw the course towards the end of last year but due to Linda's popularity the courses were very quickly booked up (testiment to how good they are) so what with my work commitments I eventually managed to secure a place on Sunday 3rd May and I have to say it was well worth the wait, soo much fun I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of laughs and step by step instructions all added to the enjoyment of producing a wonderful character hare which I was sooo pleased with. So, anyone thinking of booking a course, get in there fast! Well well worth it! I travelled from Leeds over an hour away and found the scenery amazing beautiful part of the country (which is complementry talk from a Yorkshire gal Lol) Linda even provides tea and the most delicious home made cake (Lemon drizzle mmmn) so once again Linda "Cheers thoroughly enjoyed the day and I hope to see you again very soon" :)"

Dan reviewed: Introduction to Green Wood Furniture Making - 2 Day Course in South Devon

"A fantastic 2 day course from which you walk away with your very own stool or small table. The days are quite fast paced in order to fit it all in but Peter is brilliant at explaining each step and giving an understanding of how wood behaves. The number of people on the course is just right. Highly recommended."

Frank Golden reviewed: Advanced throwing masterclass with David Frith

"Had two wonderful days on the course. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food good and plenty of it. David is an excellent teacher very patient and encouraging. David is very quietly spoken and difficult to hear when he is addressing the whole group, maybe a microphone and speakers would help. Thank you David and all the staff at Potclays"

"I attended Sophie's Needle Felt a Dog day with a friend and had an absolutely brilliant time, coming home with a competed dog, much to surprise! Sophie was so lovely - enthusiastic, encouraging and patient. The lunch laid on was beautiful and Sophie and her Mum went out of their way to ensure all dietary requirements were catered for. A fantastic day, I will definitely go back for further courses!"

"Three of us went on this course together today and we had a fabulous time. We each made a different design of stained glass panel, and are very pleased with all of them. There were 4 students in total with 2 tutors, so we had lots of help and advice over the day. Would definitely do it again."

Linda Saunders reviewed: A fabulous introduction to fused glass - one day course

"Had a brilliant day with Siobhan doing the fused glass course. Nothing was too much trouble; the techniques were well explained and demonstrated with examples to see in the studio. I managed to produce a window insert for my front door which involved a lot of planning. Mounting was done a few weeks later after the piece had been fired and suitable safety glass to hold the piece had been sourced. A generous and varied lunch was provided and was a welcome break from the intensive work. Thanks Siobhan hope to see you again."

Jenny reviewed: Basket making in Norfolk

"Julie was an excellent teacher - very calm, patient and knowledgable. The day was informative as well as being good fun. I was really proud of my basket, as I think we all were. There were 6 people in the class, just about the right number as we all worked at different speeds. I would happily recommend this course to anyone who enjoys a bit of crafting. Parking was easy and the cake ( homemade by Julie ) was splendid."

Stuart Bates reviewed: Introduction to traditional green wood turning course

"What a fantastic day! I bought this experience for my 9 year old nephew, Eddie, as a birthday present and accompanied him on the course. Simon is a brilliant teacher and enthusiastic about his craft. Both Eddie and I learnt a lot about wood and wood turning. We each made a dagger-dibber and a couple of willow flowers (which I presented to my wife on returning home!) Simon's work yard is in an idyllic forest setting and we were accompanied by the sounds of birds singing the whole time we were there. The kettle is always on the boil on the open fire. I would recommend this course to anyone who want to learn about wood-turning in a relaxing atmosphere."

"Barbara combined giving you the freedom to use your own ideas, whilst guiding with confidence in the finished scarf as you really do not know how it is going to look by the end! As it happened I am delighted and thrilled with my piece. Barbara also provided a great introduction to various techniques and instilled a desire to carry on and learn more more more of this exciting skill. She ensures that the classes are relaxed, informative with lots of examples to inspire the imagination. I will definitly be back for another course and bring my friend and daughter next time...already purchased some birthday gift vouchers :-) Fiona x"

Wendy Grattan reviewed: Powertex fabric sculpture introduction session

"I had such a wondeful time 'playing' & being a Creative Goddess for the morning. Annette is so gently encouraging that she gives you the belief that you will achieve a great result - and I did. I'm thrilled to bits with my plaque & can't wait to do much more. I really loved the workshop & Annette too who shared her knowledge so generously. Roll on the next workshop to get lost in creating my next piece. Drinks & scrummy cakes as well, all added to making me feel very looked after for the whole workshop. Brilliant!!"

Elizabeth Griffiths reviewed: Pottery / ceramics wheel throwing, full day

"Received a warm welcome from Lorraine into her spacious workshop. She clearly and patiently introduced me and two other students to different types of clay and then proceeded to show us how to hand craft pieces of our own design. Lorraine has a relaxed style which dissipates any anxiety about learning something new. Her teaching skills and knowledge first guided me into making a pottery bowl, then she showed us all how to use the potter's wheel and create lovely bowls and pots. When the time came for a break for lunch, Lorraine was very hospitable offering tea and coffee and her mum's delicious cupcakes. Her shop displays a nice variety of pieces for sale and Lorraine is happy to explain the process behind making them. I really enjoyed the day and I'm sure I'll be going back. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished pots and would definitely recommend this course."

Michael Stuart reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"Mark's teaching was patient and thorough, covering all aspects of woodturning, both theoretical and practical. By the middle of the second day, we students were well on the way to completing the first of several bowls of ash, acacia and sycamore. All of us were surprised at how much we learned, and how quickly we advanced from complete beginners to being able to complete a bowl to be proud of by the end of the course. Mark's teaching style is generous and sympathetic. He shared his encyclopedic knowledge and supported us continuously through the course, no matter how many mistakes we made or how many faults were only too apparent in our beginners' bowls. I will certainly try to return for another of Mark's courses."

Ian Dewey reviewed: One to one, One day, blacksmith course

"You got to do it, male, female, it does not matter, the only way you can appreciate and understand the work that goes into blacksmithing is to do it yourself. If you're wondering about the cost, then don't, where else these days can you get a full days tuition, one to one, and enjoy every minute of every hour. Good luck ALEX see you again, Ian Ian Dewey- 19th April"

"Joining Alex for a day's blacksmithing in the historic and beautiful surroundings of Chalk Pit Forge is an experience not to be missed. He is a calm, patient and humble teacher who is passionate about what he does and wants to share that passion. My Ram's head poker is now centre stage by my stove. Every time I jab it into the fire, I do so with pride! Thanks Alex!"
