Janet Copeland for Moylegrove Craft Group reviewed: Candle making workshops

"This afternoon Angharad joined the Moylegrove Village Craft Group and introduced us to Candle Making. Expert tuition with the bonus of a warm and generous personality. Health and safety, equipment, waxes galore, wicks, moulds, containers, Colour and scent and lots of fun. One of the best afternoons I can remember for a long time. The craft club were delighted with the whole thing. Inspirational and incredible value for money. We now look forward to our next workshop with Angharad when we will be turning our hand to Xmas candles."

Lindsay reviewed: Full day introduction to glass fusing course.

"I had a really brilliant day on this course. Amanda was a great teacher and lovely, putting everyone at ease. I am a complete novice at glass but I learnt so much and am very proud of the pieces I made; Amanda's guidance and tuition was so good I was genuinely surprised at how well my pieces turned out - I never thought I'd be able to make something so professional looking in just one day! There is also a really comprehensive hand-out to take home. Lunch was the icing on the cake (there was actual cake with icing too!), way above and beyond anything I've had at any craft course before."

"Thanks so much Maddie for a fantastically informative and enjoyable day. I learned far more than I could ever have imagined in a one day course - about materials, design and making techniques along with absolutely stacks of tips and advice. I was also really inspired by visiting your studio and seeing your work displayed. Excellent tuition, fabulous place and lovely to meet Penny too .... Will definitely come again! :)"

Maggi reviewed: Full day introduction to glass fusing course.

"I had the best day with Amanda and now proudly display my little tray, my door hanging and my coaster for all to see. I learnt a huge amount from Amanda and really enjoyed trying out the new skills she taught me. The two other ladies on the course were fantastic and the ice breaker coffee before we started, together with the delicious lunch, put us all very much at ease with each other. Amanda was a brilliant teacher. I had no idea at all what to expect and was thrilled to bits with the items I collected from the kiln a few days later. Highly recommend the day!"

"This course was fantastic! I learnt so much! Amanda is a great teacher and also a fab chef, the lunch was amazing. The course ran at a good pace allowing you to take time over your glass design and there was a great amount of variety and choice of coloured glass to use. When I collected my fused glass I was so thrilled with it and have been making good use of the cheese board! I am now addicted to glass!!!"

Kim wheway reviewed: Beginners Hand spinning - 'From fleece to fibre’ - at All in a Spin

"I arrived at Dunja's wonderfully situated farm an hour late, due to a traffic hold up, feeling stressed and frustrated, but within 5 minutes of being there with cup of tea in hand and a biscuit to dunk I had relaxed into wool mode in a comfy sitting room with wood burner, spinning wheel and lots of fleece around me - heaven!! It got better and better throughout the day. Dunja was very kind and gentle and I learnt so much in those few hours to treasure and take away with me. If you want a relaxing, informative and fun day in beautiful surroundings then look no further than Pen Y Caeau Farm!"

Jo Downer reviewed: Crochet for Beginners (Adults) in Putney

"Wonderful- clear lesson, patient, friendly teacher. I made some great progress and took away a lovely item, and the skills to make more, as well as beautifully clear, written instructions. My seven year old daughter did finger knitting whilst I did crochet. Sowmya kept her attention and she is so excited by the project, she had continued it every day since the course. We'd love to go back and learn the next steps"

"I was lucky enough to do a silver jewellry workshop with Lori a few weeks ago & what a thoroughly enjoyable day it was!! We learned how to prep the clay, cut out shapes, add texture, finish & polish our pieces. Lori is a brilliant teacher, she's very patient & explains the different processes in a simple & easy to understand way. It's a great way to make new friends, have a chat & make some beautiful silver jewellry in the process!!! I would highly recommend this course and you leave feeling very proud of your accomplishments!! Fantastic!!"

Peter Barnes reviewed: One to one, One day, blacksmith course

"I have worked at a forge for 5 years and learned more in one day with Alex than my entire training so far, I cannot reccomend this highly enough for anyone who wants to learn from a highly skilled Blacksmith, Alex is patient, informative and willing to allow a great amount of free reign and hands on experience. It is very humbling to be able to learn some time honored skills from someone who has spent their years perfecting and mastering a now rare trade, perhaps one of the most striking things about the experience was that Alex is so willing to pass his skills and knowledge to his customers, I shall keep his helpful advice and information with me every time I light the forge, and I shall most definately be back! Thank you Alex."

Gary Joynt reviewed: Fan Bird Carving

"I have wanted to have a go at making Fan Carved Birds for some time as I was intrigued by them and the associated folk law. The course was situated in beautiful surroundings by the side of a stream which suited the wife as she was able to have a wander and take in the local surroundings and bird life following directions from Steve as well as sit in during the session as and when she liked. Steve is very knowledgeable and a real nice guy and his relaxed manner of teaching makes for a great day. The good thing about the course is that Steve has developed his own method of fan bird carving based on observation and trial and error to hone his skills in making the fan carved birds and is happy to share his knowledge and experience. The tools required involve minimal outlay and are easily available. I certainly learned by my mistakes but by the end of the day the techniques required dropped into place and a beautiful fan carved bird was produced which I was happy with. This ended a great day in great company. I was even given a billet of Larch to take home so I could practice. I would certainly recommend this course to anyone."
