Julie Thompson reviewed: Shoe Making course – three day course

"I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 days shoe making (mine are one of the pairs in the picture). Nick is a good teacher and knows about the sharp end of the business too and was very generous in passing on his knowledge. Expect long busy days; it's an ambitious course but set in the tranquil surroundings of Stanwick Lakes it made for a unique experience."

John Lorimer reviewed: Traditional English Longbow making outdoor course - a 2-day 'Quirky Workshop' at Greystoke Craft Garden & Barns near Penrith and Ullswater

"A fantastic 2 days, Tony is an excellent tutor providing the right level of instruction, support and advice whilst allowing you to get hands on from the start. The satisfaction of seeing your arrow fly from the bow you have crafted cannot be fully described. Thanks also to Annie and her team at Greystoke for keeping a team of newbie "bowyers" fed and watered with excellent food and refreshments- I cannot recommend the 2 days highly enough - go for it you won't be disappointed."

John Lorimer reviewed: A Longbow Experience

"An experience to build an authentic longbow using traditional skills and tools, a thoroughly enjoyable and instructive 2 days. Tony is an excellent tutor, providing a balance of instruction, support and advice whilst allowing his students to get hands on right from the outset. A fantastic opportunity to connect with history and follow the traditional skills of a bowyer whilst using a range of tools and techniques. It's difficult to adequately explain the satisfaction of building a bow with your own hands - expertly supported by Tony and then having the pleasure of seeing an arrow fly from your own bow at the culmination of the two days. Would throughly recommend this course - great fun and very instructive. Thanks Tony."

"I attended this course in June. It was a five hour drive from where I live. Was the drive worth it? 100%!!!! It was inspiring, instructive, relaxing and creative. I came away from the day feeling like I'd been at a Spa but also bursting with ideas. I love the pictures I took on the day. if you're looking for some creative inspiration or want to get great photos of your products, this is a perfect course."

"I did the first of these courses in June, it was so enjoyable that i've signed up for July's ! The course was held in a quirky and fabulous location, the ambience and attention to details was great and Lyndsey knows what she is talking about ..! The mix of ladies (for yes we were all ladies on this particular course) was perfect and the props available to experiment (ok play if you push me) with were varied and perfect for the job in hand. A thoroughly enjoyable day ! Looking forward to the next one !"

Tony Fitzpatrick reviewed: Shoe Making course – three day course

"Good course content and instructor was well informed. However if I was going to give you some criticism - there wasn't enough tools / glue containers and heat guns for each person which. Thank you for the course. PS: Do you provide Certificates for the course as I would like one for my business and future plans."

Emma Catlin reviewed: Wood Carving Course

"I had a fabulous day, it was so absorbing and informative. Much better than I expected it to be! Also, to work in a small group was great - we could get information and specific help with our work and I felt I learned so much. The tutor was very knowledgeable, and it really ignited my enthusiasm, I could have merrily carved away for another few hours! I am a complete new comer to wood carving, but have been trying to source tools and equipment to be able to finish the project I started. I plan to continue if time and space allow. Excellent!!! Thanks Pete!"

Robert Lea reviewed: A Longbow Experience

"Tony was friendly, approachable and provided a good introduction to the course explaining the process and techniques very well ensuring that we all felt very welcome. All equipment was set up and ready for use, tools sharp and Health and Safety considerations explained. The course was comprehensive in coverage of longbow history and methods of working with Tony providing very good support and clear guidelines without being over proscriptive to individual learning and progress. He encouraged questions and was always available for assistance. 2 days of enjoyment while learning a traditional craft and skill. Thanks very much Tony. See you in September."

Anna Kingsmill-Vellacott reviewed: Basket Making Introductory Course - one day

"Maggie is an inspired teacher able to convey her own enthusiasm for the subject. The course numbers worked beautifully and, even though the day wasn't wonderful weatherwise, I think we all enjoyed it. The small round basket I made has been extremely useful to me for holding bobbins and/or rolags when I spin. It's been very much admired by my fellow craftspeople. I really enjoyed my day and have now booked for the two day course. I do hope there will be more such courses - excellent in every way."
