Alison Tanner reviewed: Weekend upholstery courses - Oxfordshire & Berkshire Borders

"Just returned from this fantastic weekend course. Philip is an amazing tutor and I learnt such a great deal in a short space of time. The course content is as varied as those attending and this allows you to witness many elements of upholstery that you wouldn't be able to with your project alone. Philip's teaching style encourages you to make your own decisions with your project whilst providing expert advice and support. The weekend is very hands on with time to stop and watch a demonstration on another attendee's project. Using the tools Philip kindly provided was an education in itself, in addition I now know what an essential basic tool kit consists of as I used each and every one. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this course to beginners or advanced alike. I will be returning in the near future. Now off to source some more furniture for my next course with Philip........."

"Another fantastic course. Thank you sooo much Linda for your patience and encouragement that allowed me to produce my 'work of art!!!!!'. Her courses are a lovely relaxed way to meet new people, have a laugh and learn a new skill and of course are an ideal gift for someone special. "This was a surprise Fathers Day present, something I have wanted to do for decades.. I was greeted by Adrian, Andy and Debbie, with tea/coffee and great biscuits.. The course was perfect for anyone.. when you start trying things yourself, you just realise how good blacksmiths really are.. I can't really say anything different to all the other reviews.. Just get yourselves booked on the next available one.. I haven't stopped grinning from ear to ear since doing it. The homemade food an puddings for lunch was amazing (Thanks Debbie) and the cake after we finished was wonderful.. Did I say Book a course now.. ? yes.. well do it then.. I will be again.."

Anne Ardern reviewed: Ceramic moon gazing hares

"Linda is a great patient teacher. She coped with my over enthusiastic approach to life with aplomb. I loved her step by step way of teaching allowing students of every skill level to creat a very credible Hare. She was not a clock watcher allowing the class to overun and helping a traffic stuck latecomer catch up and learn. The cake and tea was welcoming and enjoyable too i will be returning soon as i can get a gang together for the soon to be announced weekday classes."

Laura reviewed: Introduction to anticlastic raising workshop

"I couldn't recommend this course higher! Jonathan is an absolute pleasure to be taught by, he is very patient, able to cater to needs, very informative. The experience I had was a hands on course and came away with two copper pieces, one silver and a piece from fold forming. The whole day is so much fun!!! I started this course with absolutely no idea what I was walking into and walked away with a bank of knowledge and a thirst to learn so much more. Like said above couldn't recomend any higher! Also included was a very tasty lunch!"

Rebecca reviewed: Two day leather bag making workshop

"We spent two very enjoyable days with Rosanna during the summer, in a lovely setting with delicious food, learning new skills and making our bags. Rosanna helped us develop our ideas before we even started and then guided us through the different stages of construction, teaching us new skills along the way. We both had such fun that we are already planning our next projects and will be in touch with Rosanna to help us with these."

Graham Baxter reviewed: Wood turning tuition, New Forest, Hampshire (1 day) (2 people)

"In the past I have never had any confidence with woodwork, therefore I was concerned when, as a birthday present, my daughter had arranged for me to attend a one day course on wood turning at the home of Graham Turner in Sway. On arrival I was given a warm welcome by Graham and introduced to his wife. He then, in a friendly manner, set about the task of teaching me the skills of wood turning. Throughout he was most patient and gave me the confidence to produce by the end of the day a trinket bowl and a candlestick which was beyond my wildest dreams. I was thrilled to bits as is my wife who could not believe what I brought home. Three cheers for Graham!!"

Alison reviewed: Ceramic moon gazing hares

"Who would have thought that making a clay hare could be so much fun?! I haven't done anything like this since I was at school which is more years ago than I care to remember! Linda is an excellent teacher; she gives clear, step by step instructions that enable you to make something you will be proud of. I will definitely be signing up for another of Linda's courses and would thoroughly recommend them. (The tea and cake were an added treat!)"

"I had some old friends visiting and wanted something for us to do for a few hours. We had so much fun! Sheena is lovely, really friendly and patient when helping and giving instructions. She also lets you the freedom to create your own unique design rather than following a strict template. We were all really happy with what we produced. I will definitely be back again for another go in the new year! Thank you Sheena"

Fiona Burton reviewed: Ceramic moon gazing hares

"I would highly recommend Linda and will be definitely be booking another course. She is a very friendly lady with a great sense of humour. Her home is full of all her wonderful works of art. Linda very patiently showed us step by step, how to make our hares. There were some beautiful examples for us to look at for inspiration. I was impressed by the way Linda enabled us to tap into our creative side as we each gave our hares their own personalities. I was really impressed (and proud) of how good they all looked. I have never done anything like this before, Linda has shown me that you can teach an old dog new tricks!! Oh, and to top it all off, Linda also provides the most gorgeous home made cakes and tarts all washed down with lots of tea and coffee!! Thank you Linda, I had a lovely day."

Emma Davies reviewed: CERTIFICATE : Making Natural Luxury Anti-ageing skincare products (Toner, Serum, and Face Cream)

"I really enjoyed this course and learned a lot. I have made many lotions but have had many lotions failures in the past where the lotion won't stay emulsified. Now I know what went wrong. I managed to make a beautiful lotion/cream using the technique learnt straight after the workshop. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to find out the correct way of making emulsions and save themselves the heartache I went through!"

Elaine Perry reviewed: Beginners Weaving with the Rigid Heddle Loom - at All in a Spin

"An excellent introduction to weaving for a complete beginner. Dunja is extremely knowledgeable and very organised. She was able to give each of us in the group just the right sort of help we needed to complete a piece of weaving. Lots of tips as well as handouts to help me continue. I was so inspired and enthusiastic that I purchased a loom to continue practising at home! I learned to spin with Dunja last year and it was great that she encouraged me to bring and use some of my own yarn to use in the finished product - I felt very proud of my scarf! I look forward to returning to glean more information from the 'fibre preparation' course soon."

Chris Roberts reviewed: Beginners Weaving with the Rigid Heddle Loom - at All in a Spin

"I simply loved this course. Dunja is very welcoming. Her knowledge of her craft is extensive coupled with an excellent teaching technique and endless patience together with very small classes ensure that all students get the support that they need. Each of us came away with a viable piece of cloth that could be used. I cannot recommend this course highly enough. I will certainly looking to return to build on the excellent foundation that I have been given."

Lisa reviewed: Furniture painting workshop with Annie Sloan chalk paint

"Good tutor and plenty of help. A good range of techniques covered. Would have liked more help/ practice at basic plain painting. Only snag was- We only had one pot and brush for the group when doing most of the techniques which meant there was a lot of time waiting to take a turn."
