Diana Ramsay reviewed: Beginners woodturning course

"Ciaran's woodturning course was excellent. He took us through the safety aspects, introduced us to the tools we would using, and then let us loose on the lathes. Brilliant, hands on learning which resulted in us our first turned items. I was so inspired by the course, that I'm now turning at home on a lathe I bought. I would highly recommend Ciaran's course."

Jo Saunders reviewed: Gelli Printmaking with No5workshops Group Booking

"What an inspiring, fantastic afternoon. I had so much fun and learned oodles about mono and gelli printing. Armi allows you to develop your print with as much or as little help as required. She is passionate about printing and it shows in her work and teaching. I'm utterly thrilled with the pieces I produced and I am looking forward to the Armi's art booklet stitching course. The venue is as equally as inspiring as the course. Design-led, light and airy studio - simply stunning. And, the refreshments.... wow! Home-made cakes – artisan, delectable, moreish!"

David Lea reviewed: Four day intensive beginners woodwork course

"As an absolute beginner in any form of woodworking I thoroughly enjoyed this course and I learnt so much. From understanding how to care for, maintain and use hand tools properly and safely, to building an Ash and Walnut display table using a various array of techniques, all patiently taught by the master craftsman that is Ciarán. His relaxed and encouraging teaching style quickly allayed any fears I had, meaning I could enjoy the course from the very start. I am now working on a few small projects to build more confidence and skill before booking myself on the intermediate course"

"What a fabulous weekend I've just had! I've learnt some new skills in leather craft, made a beautiful hand made leather bag, from an excellent teacher, Jason. Both days were really relaxing as we worked away using the skills he taught us, the time just flew by. After a lovely weekend in the workshop I feel really inspired to make my own bags and cant wait to get my hands on some leather! Thank you Jason for a great weekend and passing on your amazing skills!"

Rebecca Ashley reviewed: Basket making in Norfolk

"This is a brilliant course. Julie was an amazing tutor, so patient and informative. The day is pretty full on but at the end of it you will have made a beautiful basket. The group was quite small which meant that Julie had time to come around to everyone to check that they were doing things properly. Everyone could work at their own pace. I can't praise Julie enough and the homemade cakes were a real bonus! I highly recommend this course."

Andrea Harper reviewed: Beginners candle making workshop - London

"My daughter and her friends had an amazing time making candles at her 10th birthday party. Sarah was very friendly and the girls felt immediately at ease with her. Sarah explained everything really clearly and made the party fun and informative. All of the girls went home with hand decorated party bags to hold the fabulous scented candles they had made, I would recommended Sarah 100% to anyone looking for a slightly different party. Thank you so much Sarah !"

Pamela Mansergh reviewed: Beginning Your Beekeeping - Two Day Beginners Course

"I knew nothing about bees when I attended the Beekeeping Course for Beginners at Mantel Farm early last year after I had been given two hives with colonies! I gained a huge amount of knowledge from these two days and importantly the course was backed up with instructive illustrated notes to which I refer frequently. I would recommend this course to anyone thinking of taking up this interesting and satisfying (sometimes!) hobby."

Sowmya Vikram (Crochet Hobbit) reviewed: Brush Calligraphy

"My long time wish of learning Calligraphy from a professional artist was finally fulfilled. I resonated with all that Asha (the tutor) brought into her work - her artistic sensibilities, style, love for handmade work, and the quality of the materials used. The group size was limited and the atmosphere warm, it was very well orchestrated so our initial doubts of whether we'd be able to make it soon disappeared and we were found enjoying ourselves. Being a craft tutor myself, it was wonderful to be a student and to learn this exquisite form of writing from a natural artist like Asha. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn and be inspired, but remember to practice every day :)"

Christian reviewed: One to one, One day, blacksmith course

"My one day blacksmith course was brought by my wife as a 40th birthday present and was something that I wanted to have a go at for some time. Alex shared his years of knowledge over a day with me and taught me some amazing blacksmithing skills. His instructions were very clear and informative and he guided me through each step to make a Skulls head fire poker. Although the item I made was challenging at times the results were amazing. Alex is a very friendly and patient teacher who I wouldn’t hesitate at working with again in the future. Many thanks Alex for an amazing day at Chalk Pit Forge."

"Attended the course at the weekend and found it to be excellent. The teaching was of very high quality. However, it was Mike's knowledge of woodland and trees that really made the difference!
