Description
This counted blackwork Under the Sea embroidery kit features some lovely DMC Colour Variations threads and just a hint of gold. A great introduction to blackwork embroidery complete with chart and full instructions, it forms a mini course in its own right. Blackwork is very similar to cross stitch but works much faster due to the stitches covering a larger area. This piece could easily be completed in a weekend. Each area of the anchor, shell and sea horse is worked in a different blackwork stitch with another stitch used to create the impression of water. Blending the threads creates a subtle variation in colour and the piece is finished with a lovely metallic thread for the broken anchor chain. The kit comes complete with everything needed to complete the design which measures 17 x 16 cm approx. when complete. It is available on Antique white 28 count evenweave. Main elements of the design are pre drawn in water soluble ink. Frame is for illustration purposes only.
