Description
Each wondrous box is a treasure trove of fabric and trims for your slow stitching project. Take a mindful and contemplative journey through the Cumbrian Lake District with over sixteen pieces of quality new fabric which will include designer brands and unique originals in a range of fabric weights and textures. One or two of the pieces are plain to allow you to add your own embellishment, painting, stamping or journal notes. Included in each kit will also be a small piece of even weave or aida, so you can even add your own cameo cross stitch. Some of the trims and ribbons may be vintage but will always be unused and these will include silk ribbon, lace and embellishments. We include a range complimentary DMC or Madeira embroidery threads and we will even include a needle pack with a threader and John James high quality needles. Packs of buttons and coordinating beads and sequins complete the kit and where possible, these are either vintage or made from natural, sustainable materials. Fabrics included in this kit may vary but will stay on theme and are based on the hues of the flora, fauna, lakes and mountains of the Cumbrian Lake District. These will range from natural stone to gentle greens, heather and slate blues. This wonderful collection is just perfect for slow stitch, junk journal or Sewing for the Soul projects and will be a welcome gift for those who enjoy sewing, collage and mixed media. Maureen is a master hand embroiderer with over 25 years experience. Skills handed down from Irish ancestors have been honed with training from world class embroidery schools. Small courses and workshops are often held in her native Cumbria and the hand embroidery courses can be studied via distance learning or online.
