4 Week Pottery Throwing Course Heskin, Chorley

Hello, I'm Sharon, an experienced ceramic sculpture & clay artist. I regularly host fun & informal adult pottery sessions from my pottery studio along with a small team. This 4 week throwing course is suitable for beginners. It will guide you through the basic knowledge of throwing pots on the potters wheel. You will learn how to centre & pull up your clay, practicing this each week. Working at your own pace you'll explore a different skill, such as throwing tools & different forms. We will also get the chance to explore lidded vessels and wheel altered pots. During each session there is time to self practice the skills. There is a maximum of 2 students with 1 tutor on this course, ensuring that you have hands on & verbal support throughout the course. The course is designed to practice form appose to making lots of pots. The firing of your two favourite pots from each session is included in the price. Up to a 12.5 kg bag of clay is included in the course. Additional clay is £12 per 12.5kg bag. Unfortunately once booked, missed sessions cant be refunded or rescheduled, so please ensure that you can attend all the sessions before booking. The class runs Tues, Fridays & Sundays every week and can be attended by adults from 16 years. Firing of your two favourite pots each week is included in the course fee. You can take additional pots home at the end of the session to air dry OR you can have additional pots fired at a cost of £3 per pot. You then have the option of returning to the studio for a glaze session £15pp. The Crafty Potter studio is based within Heskin shopping Village, a unique retail and leisure destination featuring over 40 unique shops and businesses, With free parking we’re a perfect destination for you to make a great fun day out.
