Join Sculpture Academician Luke Shepherd on Saturday 20th October 2024 at the Art House , South Brent, for a one-day workshop focused on traditional sculptural techniques inspired by classical Renaissance training methods. All abilities are welcome. Your task for the day? To model and recreate the eye of Michelangelo's David. Using air-dry clay, craft your replica and proudly display it at home as a constant reminder of your journey into the world of sculpture. Prepare for a day filled with enjoyment, hands-on learning, and the exploration of practical techniques used by figurative sculptors. The day will also include a small slice of art history and a PowerPoint presentation as we delve into the Renaissance period of Art and how classical sculpture is approached. Led by Luke Shepherd, a renowned portrait sculptor whose works grace museums, universities, and private collections world wide. Luke is celebrated for his captivating portraits, including those of Floella Benjamin and Billy Connolly. Alternatively, we are just 200 yards from ther center of the village where there is a nice deli (not open on a Sunday) and a Co-Op.
Refreshments are provided throughout the day with regular breaks and you'll want them as we've a lot to pack in one day!
