Scented Candle Making Workshop

Our candle making workshops are always super popular, largely we believe because we offer you the chance to scent your candle using a selection of fragrances which have been specially created for us by professional international perfumer Ruth Mastenbroek. Regular workshop visitors will know that we've been huge fans of Ruth's 'Firedance' diffuser fragrance since we first opened 6 years ago. Ruth is a highly experienced luxury niche perfumer, whose perfumes have been sold all over the world and are currently available in Fenwicks on Bond Street and Fortnum & Masons. Ruth also just won the fragrance industry's most prestigious award -Perfume Extraordinaire 2023 at The Fragrance Foundation Annual Awards - for her luxury eau de parfum fragrance Zephyr. Lucky for us Ruth lives locally and works alongside her daughter Claire and son Nic...and you know how much we love a local family business - check them out, these guys are brilliant :) We will be offering you the chance to choose from a selection of candle fragrances, specially created for us and this class. In this 90 minute jam-packed workshop, Jules and Caroline will take you through the candle making process step-by-step. You will learn about the different kinds of wax, melting the wax, adding different fragrance oils and will finish up with pouring 2 of your own candles in glass jars, as well as making some tea lights to enable you to try each of Ruth's luxury fragrances. You'll be all set for some wonderful handmade gifts for family & friends or you'll simply leave with beautifully fragranced candles as a special treat for yourself. All materials will be provided and no previous experience is necessary at all. NB candles take a little while to set so any candles that have not fully set by the end of the session, can be collected later in the day or from The Studio or Pavilion on a different day.
