Printmaking: Introduction to Drypoint & Tetrapack

X

Description

Introduction to drypoint and tetrapack! The excitement of peeling back your paper to reveal your print, never fades! In this workshop we will be exploring two related forms of intaglio printmaking: drypoint and tetrapak! We will explore various ways to make marks, create texture and patterns, whilst also learning about tonal values in printmaking. We will start with creating a drypoint plate, carving designs in, and then learning how to ink it up and create a beautiful print. Then we will move onto using tetrapak to create diverse and richly tonal prints - a wonderful way to use materials we have around us everyday! You will have at least 2 different designs and prints to take home with you. What to bring: - Apron - Folder or glossy mag to take their prints home in - Reference images to use in the workshop (max size to fit onto an A5 plate) - Washed and opened tetrapaks if they have any, but NOT ESSENTIAL!! - Kitchen roll - Old newspaper - A packed lunch
