Pottery wheel & glass fusing private course
Description
Chris Greening runs classes in pottery and I (Sarah Greening) run classes in glass fusing and enamelling separately (you can find our other classes on Craft Courses). Jointly, we offer a combined half-day course (1-day courses are also available - please see other listings) in our workshop/studio in Worcester. This makes a great activity for families or friends - we often get generations of family booking a day out together or groups of friends for a birthday celebration or couples wanting a shared experience for an anniversary etc. (Ages 10-16 accompanied by paying adult). Price is per person. The course is 3 hours long and will include a pottery class of approx 1.5 hours (Max. 4 people in each class with a wheel each) and a glass fusing (or enamelling) class of approx 1.5 hours with tea/coffee offered. Pottery: You will have a wheel each with full tuition. In the 1.5 hour session you'll have time to make a couple of bowls on the wheel and then decorate them with coloured slips. Chris will fire them twice and glaze which takes 2-3 weeks. Glass: You will be shown the basics of glass fusing and a wide array of materials available. In the 1.5 hour session you'll have time to create about 2-3 items of your choice: jewellery, coaster, sun-catcher, Christmas decorations, cocktail stirrers etc. Sarah will fire them for you and fix jewellery bails which takes about 1-2 weeks. Alternatively, you can choose to do enamelling (max 3 people only) - you could make 3 pieces of enamelled copper jewellery in the time (these are ready to take away with you on the day). (I need to know when booking if you would like glass fusing or enamelling) You can choose a morning or afternoon - we are quite flexible on timing and dates and can run for between 1-4 people on a date to be arranged between us. (Price is per person) The cost for the half day course includes all materials and the firing of your pieces (for collection in approximately 2-3 weeks)(postage can be arrange at a cost). If you would prefer a whole day course please see our other listings via the 'See more from this maker' link below.

Maker
I love sharing my enthusiasm for fusing glass and using my experience to help people make a few pieces they are proud to display at home! I have a small studio where I make my own glass jewellery to sell via shops and galleries and I can teach up to 6 people at the studio in Worcester. I prefer small groups so that I can give each person the individual attention they need to make their creations - I have plenty of examples for those stuck for ideas!
