Origami workshop. This course is designed for all abilities to explore different approaches to botanical art making. No experience required. Now is your chance to learn some simple origami designs in a step by step, easy to understand workshop where no previous experience of origami is needed. Come and join some like minded, creative people in a fun introduction to the oriental art of origami. Origami artist Vanessa will do a hands-on demonstration giving step by step instruction as we go to enable everyone to make some stylish and unique origami items. You will be provided with all of the materials that you will need including a wide selection of beautiful origami papers to inspire you. The workshop will be 2 hours in duration and we will make origami flower and origami hearts. About the artist: Vanessa is a member of the British Origami Society and over the past 6 years has taught origami to adults in a diverse range of settings from the Royal Albert Hall to Royal Caribbean cruise ships to staff from the Moorfields Eye Hospital. Vanessa has also recently carried out a number of origami workshops in various local adult community groups as a way to teach about creative mindfulness. As a result, she learnt that the practise of origami allows people to reconnect to their natural capacity to create beauty in a simple and accessible way. Dr Helen Jones has 14 years art teaching experience. Helen achieved a 1st Class honours in Fine Art and continues to be a practicing Artist from her home studio in Chester. She completed an MA in Art Education and then completed a Doctorate in the subject. She has delivered adult art workshops nationally and offers regular art classes and workshops in Chester through her small business The Art Doctor UK founded in 2021. Helen has also taught art in Tuscany, the Congo, Rome and Finland. She has a warm and encouraging nature.
