Description

On Cecily Kate's ever popular Felted Winter Landscape workshop you learn how to ‘paint’ with wool and create a beautiful Spring needle felted piece. This is a very therapeutic and relaxing workshop. 'Painting’ with wool is a magical process perfect for beginners and intermediate level. No artistic experience required! Fibres can easily be added and removed without damaging the landscape. The soft cloudy quality of the fibre creates a diffused image, reminiscent of an impressionist painting. Once you catch the wool painting bug you'll be able to create your own special pieces at home! Many people who come find themselves returning to do the next landscape workshop...and the next...as it's a fantastic way to build a stunning group of landscapes! On this workshop you will learn how to lay out the dry loose wool fibres in layers onto the pre felt ‘canvas' much as you would when methodically painting layers for a water colour landscape painting. Cecily Kate will guide you every step of the way - from colour choices to blending secondary and tertiary colours, to helping you create depth and perspective and light and shadow as you gradually needle felt the layers down while building up your landscape. Final details are added in the foreground to further enhance your scene. We will frame your finished piece so you can take it straight home and hang it on your wall or gift to someone special. Cecily Kate has created this series of seasonal woolly paintings to beautifully capture special qualities throughout the UK landscape, making them all as stand alone pieces of art or as a curated set for your wall. She is releasing new landscapes every season so keep an eye out! The image of the landscape for each workshop is provided as inspiration to work from. Please note, this is a needle felting workshop - no wet felting involved.
