Miniature Landscapes with Granulating Watercolours

X

Description

This is not a workshop covering traditional watercolour techniques. Working small we will use highly granulating watercolours in a very loose way, letting the watercolour do its own thing and generate amazing textures. We will also see how some pigments can be influenced by a magnet. Additional marks or collage can then be added to the granulated watercolour washes to create imaginary semi-abstract landscapes. There will be the option of framing one of your miniature paintings at the end of the day, at the additional cost for frame and framing materials, payable to the tutor on the day (expected to be less than £10). What to bring: A packed lunch Large brush - a mop if you have one but a large flat or round brush will do Smallish round brush (or two) - about a size 12 An old toothbrush Palette Feel free to bring your own watercolours and favourite brushes and watercolour pencils/sticks if you have them.
