Lampwork Beadmaking Two Day Class For One
Description
This is a 2 day intensive course for 1 person, ideal for newcomers wanting to setup their own studio or lampworkers wanting to build on their skills. This is a one to one course, you will not be part of a group. If you would like to bring a friend see our other listings for 2 person classes with a discount. All aspects of bead making will be covered, tools & equipment, health & safety, types of glass etc followed by demonstration and practice of basic tasks such as pulling stringers and making various types of basic beads. The second day of the course will cover any aspects you would like to concentrate on, from discussing equipment options in detail, practice different types of bead or trying your hand at more complex beads, its up to you. At the end of the course you will have made several styles of bead, be familiar with the different tools and equipment of bead making, how to use them safely and which ones may be most suitable for you in setting up your own studio. All beads made on the day will be posted to you after they have been annealed in our kiln. We aim to run the course 10:00 am – 5:30pm each day with a break for light refreshments but times are flexible around your needs. Ruth and Andy Harrison are full time, self-taught lampwork glass artists with over 15 years of experience based in Burton-On-Trent. We discovered lampworking almost by accident and it was a hobby for a little while before quickly becoming a full time job, and obsession.
